2013 Kona Hei Hei 29 Bike
The Good

Moves rapidly over Tahoe trails and rocks. plenty stiff rear thru axel. Good components.

The Bad

Little heavy on steep climbs

Overall Review
Got this bike as first 29 er after demoing tallboy long travel carbon. This bike oat like a sixth of at bike but still does justas good a job. I like locking out suspension for climbs fire roadscandvpavement. The giants don't even have lockout. This bikealsodoes fine in the twists. Just gotta maneuver it. Liked better than tallboy cause it was a better, size. Got the 20 inch. Sc rep thank you but the xl u put me on was a little too big combined with 29 er. No joy. This ones perfect. Also climbing while standing is like on a hardtail cause of lockout. The giants and specialized must not climb...

2013 Kona Process
The Good

Tapered head tube, nice geometry, 142 x12

The Bad

Heavy wheels and tires, 2x10 and bash, Elixir brakes

Overall Review
At first look at the stats the bike seems too heavy to be a contender, espcially when there are way lighter 160mm travel machines on the market, but somehow you just don't notice the weight until you pick it up. It climbs OK, but it could climb so much better, on the descents it is fun, but this is mostly due to the tire width and slack HT angle becuase the RS suspension is adequate, but not great, but could have been tuned by Kona or RS to be really good. I feel the process could be a little better with some smarter component choices. If the bike had lighter tubeless tires like Hans Dampf 2...

2013 Kona Taro Bike
The Good

The fork, chainguide, and frame are all quality parts, it is a very stable, durable machine

The Bad

I wish it had orizontal dropouts for SS conversion, the rear hub isnt very strong

Overall Review
I really enjoy this bike; I am in my mid twenty's and I wanted to get a bike that could go up and down hills. I started riding 3 and a half years ago on a dirt jumper, then got a free ride/ dh bike, and this completes my fleet. I love this bike for XC and light free ride. The fork is amazing, I have yet to completely bottom out and have hit a 25 foot trail gap on this thing. I am pretty rough on my equipment and it has stood up superbly. It was at a great price for me, I wanted a fun bike that was on the cheaper side (I am in college and I work part time, I had to save up over many months to...

2013 Kona Process
Vital Review
Overall Review
Reviewed by Steve Wentz, Joe Schneider, and Brandon Turman // Photos by Shawn Spomer and Brandon Turman Born and bred in the shred-heavy forests of Bellingham, Washington, the Kona Process has a decidedly simple, capable look to it. This bike blurs the line between all-mountain, enduro, and freeride with its 150mm of travel, 66-degree head angle, and big boy attitude. At $3,199, it's the more affordable version of the $5,499 Process DL, and just so happens to share exactly the same frame. One look at the Process and we knew we were in for some fun, so we saved it for a few of the rowdiest days...

2013 Kona Supreme Operator Bike
The Good

Shimano part spec Handles great

The Bad

Cheap paint on frame Downtube is very exposed

Overall Review
After riding a buddies 2011 Operator I immediately put my name on the list for a 2012. I ride a large frame and have been riding mine for a year now. I love the top tube length because I find that a lot of other bikes feel too jammed. The top tube length just feels very natural. I also like the longer wheelbase because it handles so well on fast and steep runs. I was worried that I wouldn't be able to turn the bike because of the long wheelbase, but I haven't had any issues making tight off cambers. The paint on the frame is really cheap and doesn't make the bike stand out. I also would have...

2012 Kona Entourage Deluxe Bike
The Good

Solid and versatile with a good overall component spec. Easy to maintain. Predictable and flick-able.

The Bad

One of my best friends wants to beat me up and take mine from me. Otherwise, just little nit-picky things that are just my biased opinion.

Overall Review
I purchased mine a little over a couple of months ago, although I was originally planning on getting their Supreme Operator model. I had demoed their standard Operator and was impressed, but then I demoed/raced the Entourage and I had big decisions to make - as in, 8" big or 7" big. This guy, weighing in at a burly 145lbs soaking wet, didn't really need a FULL full-squish since I race an average of two races a year - nor am I an aspiring WCer. I do a ton of hike-a-bike, shuttle and even lift-access and tend to not shy away from too many jumps - I'm less concerned about my times than I am about...

The Good

Short stays, a great flickable park bike.

The Bad

Fork, pedals and tires.

Overall Review
For a base model bike, it is a great value. nice part spec aside from the fork and pedals, I was also sad to see thin sidewalled non-full DH tires. Good place to start, with room for upgrades you would likely make anyway.
