How to Play Vital MTB Downhill Fantasy

Play for free! Compete for prizes and bragging rights by building a mountain bike race team for each round of the 2024 UCI World Series Downhill season. Prizes will be awarded each round to the Top 5 players, and there will be 5 overall winners for the players with the highest points total at the end of the season.

Rules

  • Build a race team at each World Cup Downhill and World Championships in 2024.
  • Teams can't be built unless a game is open. Games open when the official rider start list for the round is in (typically the Wedsnesday before the race).
  • $1,000,000 budget per race
  • Teams must have at least one rider from Elite Men, Elite Women, Junior Men, and Junior Women's classes
  • Every rider on the official UCI race start list will be available for selection.
  • No limit on team size.
  • Fantasy games close for team building in the evening after semi-finals (local race time).
  • If you can't build your team before the game closes, an auto-selected team will be built for you using a maximum of $750,000.

Rider Values

  • Vital Fantasy rider values change from race to race.
  • The value of a rider is determined by their past results from both previous seasons and previous races.
  • The most expensive rider doesn't always guarantee the most points.

Vital Fantasy Points Structure

  • Points in Vital Fantasy match the UCI Mountain Bike World Series structure.
  • Points are only awarded to riders with finishes in the finals.
  • There will be no fantasy points awarded for qualifying or semi-final results.
  • Fantasy games close for team building the morning of Finals day. This allows players to adjust their team based on rider qualifying and/or semi-final results.
  • 2024 World Championships Fantasy game will feature a double points structure based on World Cup results points. These double points will be added toward the season total for the overall competition.

What if something happens like the Junior qualifier in Loudenvielle being used as the final or Andorra finals being canceled in 2023? If race results are adjusted due to weather or unforeseen circumstances, Vital will determine how to award points accordingly.

Leagues

The Global League is used to award prizes to all Fantasy players. For extra fun, players can create their own leagues to play directly with friends. Leagues can be private (password protected) or open for anyone to join.

Results

  • Results will be posted as quickly after the race as possible.
  • If there is a points tie between players, the earliest prediction based on our system's time stamps wins.
  • Winners will receive an email to the address used on their profile at sign-up.
  • Prize winners may be required to pay shipping, duty, tariff, or other charges depending on location.
