I wanted to buy a good riding shoe, and i looked for this new brand to give it a chance, i have two monts riding it, are very confortable, and could be dressed in any ocation, the offer a good grip in the pedal but once they get wet gets very slippery, i would love a version that covers the heel because they already have toe box reinforced.
The outsole needs to be rethinked because it´s getting very damaged with the pedal´s screws, and dont offer any support to the heel when it needs it, the material is very hard, is good for the confort because dont cause any pain when you´re riding, but it get shattered when the pedal get stuck in the holes.
Im going to keep riding with them, are a very good shoe but can get better.
-doesn't look too much like a bulky bike shoe
-uncomfortable tongue
I've only had these for about 2 months. I bought them because they were <1/2 the price of freerider pros and based on the reviews I had read, sounded like they would be durable.
First impressions were good. Grip was really good, but you're able to move your foot when you want. They do stay locked when things are just rowdy. Looks were ok (i have the black/charcoal ones); I would say they look more like a skate shoe with a thicker sole.
The first problem I noticed was the tongue. It's really thin foam with no tough coating or anything, so you can really feel laces through it. It's not gusseted (which i knew) but because it's so flimsy, it moves around quite a bit while putting them on. Also given how there's no thick coating, i've had tiny little trail debris get caught in the tongue and it really feels uncomfortable.
However i purchased them because they were a really good price and sounded like they would last a while. Unfortunately that doesn't look like it will be the case. I run Deity Compound pedals (very grippy, 6 pins per side) and the soles are already showing considerable wear. I ride 3-4 times a week, but based on other reviews that said they saw no wear after 6 months, this still seems too fast to me.
Other small things include that the aglet (end of the shoelace) came apart on one end of the laces the first ride, so that's now wrapped in electrical tape. Also, the ventilation holes on the top of the toe box look to be stretching (they're right where the toe box bends up) and i expect they will start cracking/ripping soon.
Probably won't buy again, but it was worth the try for a season (at a discount price)!
