SQlab 411 Innerbarends

Allows moving the hand inward, positioning the elbows such that they can comfortably rest against your torso. It also stretches the upper body position slightly forward, an aerodynamic and biomechanical advantage.

Barends stem from the early days of mountain biking and are historically mounted to the outer ends of the handlebars. As straight bars became less favored and sales of riser bars increased, bar ends slowly disappeared. Now, as the rise of mountain bike bars has reduced again and instead bars have become lower and wider, bar ends are reemerging.

SQlab Innerbarends are an evolution of the early day bar ends but with the different mounting position keeping the brake levers in reach. The position somewhat resembles that of an aerobar.

Innerbarends fit most bikes and are mounted directly adjacent and inwards of the grips. As most brake levers are long enough, for best brake performance one can and should mount them inboard of the shifter, there is usually sufficient space between grips and shifter/brake lever for mounting Innerbarends.

The Innerbarends do not have a specific area of use. They are however ideal for the mountain bike: MTB racing, XC, marathon, trail riding, touring, all-mountain, and Enduro where they provide a perfect riding position for recovery on transition stages. Innerbarends can also be useful on the handlebars of trekking bikes or city bikes.
