Here's one from the archives. Norland Cycles founder and designer, Maximilian-Peter Werner, is celebrating the exit of his original prototype and the move to something carbon by donning the original with several components created during the era from which it was born. From the Marzocchi Monster T to the Mavic Deemax wheels, Conti Rubber Queen tires, SRAM Grip Shift, and lack of a direct-mount stem, this thing kicks it old school to the max. There's even a prototype FOX Vanilla RC out back which was originally created for Tomac in the early years given its long eye-to-eye length. The bike weighs a whopping 23kg, though the creator guarantees a drastic reduction in weight as he moves to a new carbon layup and much more modern components for 2017. If you're attending Megavalanche, keep an eye out for a wild man blazing a streak down the snow on his latest creation.
