RESULTS: Marcelo Gutierrez and Anneke Beerten Win EWS Manizales Prologue

The organizers of the Manizales EWS race had something special in store for us: an urban DH prologue! With only 1 minute and 10 seconds of racing time, the short but sharp course nevertheless managed to product some sizable gaps - maybe even enough to help decide the eventual outcome of the race. The unusual format also shook things up atop the leaderboard, with some of the usual suspects finishing lower down the order than usual. That said, the real fun begins today, with 7 grueling stages to be raced in the jungle. Can local boy (and urban DH specialist) Marcelo Gutierrez hold onto his advantage on familiar terrain? And does Anneke Beerten's prologue win signal a return to form for the Dutch pinner? Stay tuned to find out!
