Starting a 2024-specific race thread to discuss event dates, venues and eventually the actual racing. Kicking it off with USA Cycling National Championships schedule. Gravity is back in North Carolina, July 31, Aug 4 2024.
So Gravity Nats is directly after Crankworx. Hope no one needs to drive from one to the other.
Ooof. But at least they announced it already. The tardiness of last year's announcement was unbelievable.
Knowing in October is a net win for USDH, even if the scheduling is questionable.

THE WORLD’S TOUGHEST DOWNHILL MOUNTAIN BIKE EVENT RETURNS FOR 10 10-YEAR ANNIVERSARY EDITION
(Tuesday 31st October, 2023) The most anticipated downhill mountain biking event, Red Bull Hardline, is back as it celebrates its 10-year anniversary, returning to the unforgiving terrain of the Dyfi Valley in Wales on 1st and 2nd June.
Tickets are now available, and spectators can expect the same level of gnarly jumps and drops that has made this one of the most iconic events in the sporting calendar, as it puts the world’s best riders to the test both physically and mentally.
As we gear up for the 10th anniversary in Wales, Red Bull’s mountain bike athlete Matt Jones aims to lay down the fastest time on the course with a little help from four wheels and Red Bull drifting legend, Mad Mike. The 2024 event not only signals a decade of downhill mountain biking progression, but for the first time in its ten-year history, Red Bull Hardline will venture beyond its renowned UK location to make a debut down under as it visits Tasmania, Australia on the 23rd-24th of February 2024. Builders of the UK event, Gee and Dan Atherton will take the daring spirit of Red Bull Hardline to Tasmania, as the bravest and best riders prepare to risk it all to win in Australia.
Following the incredible progress and personal triumphs from female riders sessioning the Hardline course earlier this year in the Dyfi Valley, the 2024 edition will continue to provide a platform to test and progress towards piecing together the full course, across both events in the UK and Australia.
Inspired by the efforts of the riders pushing the boundaries of women’s downhill on the Red Bull Hardline course this year, Tahnée Seagrave was at the forefront of creating an environment with Red Bull’s support for an incredible group of talented and eager female athletes to accomplish as much of the course as possible:
“Red Bull Hardline is THE most difficult mountain bike race in the world and we want to approach the Hardline Women’s Camp in the right way that creates an environment to facilitate and support the progression of the girls at an attainable speed so that more girls can eventually have the opportunity to tackle this course. My partner and I are planning a euro trip and wanted to see if we can line up a date with a world cup event. I think we're targeting the Les Gets round but it's June 28-July 7. Does anyone know which weekend it will be? I'm hoping its the second weekend and I don't have to burn as much PTO because of the week of the 4th.
Would be nice if the UCI could actually release some info on this so FANS could make some plans.

Nothing official yet but Darren Kinnaird has said July 19 - 28th. Canadian Open is July 21
Interesting that they decided to run the Welsh event the weekend before back to back World Cup races when they had all of July to run it, with it being Olympics etc..
That sounds right. I was told it is being run the week of the Olympics because of broadcast issues, or something. I have the same dates blocked out already.

I heard finals have been postponed a year in advance due to high winds.
Ahhh, OK, I thought the goal with the Whistler stop was to have it during a lull in world cup schedule so that big racers would attend. And since the WC schedule JUST dropped I didn't think Crankworx has dates in place yet. But good to know. Thnx!
I wonder when the Fort Bill round of the BDS is next year? I'm guessing it'll be after the WCDH race, as that's a month earlier than usual. I don't think dates have been released yet, but maybe Hardline has been scheduled early June to coincide with that?
Also with a WCDH round on the 5-7th July and Crankworx starting on the 19th, July is looking pretty busy.

many countries hold their National races in July to pick their team for worlds
We have a French national downhill race scheduled for 28-30 June, so those in the know here in France clearly think the WC DH is the 5-7 July. They wouldn't schedule a national DH race the same weekend as a WC DH.
