thanks man. You need the custom chainstays. I managed to fit a 29 rear wheel in the stock CS but you couldnt run aything bigger then a road tire

Sick build! Bet thats a fun ride. I thought i remembrred a dorado could fit a 29 with the travel shortened. I'm considering getting a dorado to use a 29r at 180. Is it hard to alter the travel(assuming thats allnid have to do) ?

The dorado has an exceptionally long Axle to Crown length, even with reduced travel. Did the new crowns help you get around that?

Just put them on. Need to finish the new axle I made for the 15mm hubs I have. The custom crowns were on my boxxer/dvo hybrid forks I had. Working on some new crowns for these forks that are gonna be pretty sweet. Not really worried about atc but I'll see how it feels once I ride it. These pics were from first mock-up. Was too excited to not take pics

thanks, its a 7.75x2.75, but it wont fit stock. i had to machine some very aggressive offset spacers and do a little clearance on the shock itself

Originally I thought of putting my Dorados on the Taniwha as well but ended up not doing it. This bike is making me start to think again...

Waiting for my 240mm rotor to get finished so I can mock it up and machine the new adapter. Just put the Dorado on. It's getting some external and internal mods very soon

I had boxxers in 29 dvo diamond lowers with custom machined crowns to make it work and reduce offset. Just replace the setup with the dorados. They will be getting custom machined crowns I'm working on and some custom internals and other stuff

I program cncs machines so I designed one and am having a partner company cut it out as I don't have a laser at our shop. Might sell them in small batches

And can be crammed into a 26 easily. A good 26 tube will also stretch to fit 29.
On most wheelsets, you’ll need to own more than one size of spoke if you’re going to properly replace a broken one anyway. Majority of wheelsets have anywhere from 2-4 different spoke lengths in it.

i didnt take measurements but i shortened the front travel when i did the swap and also long shocked it so those help offset it and it feels very balanced

Smaller rear wheels are not the worst idea. Better lateral stiffness for sideways movements, and the front rolls over obstacles well. Better for traveling down steep chutes, and bikes can only travel uphill at a limited angle anyway. I personally want to move away from having a smaller back wheel just for simplicity's sake, it sucks having to have 2 different sizes/sets of replacement everything.(rims, spokes, tires, tubes if you run tubes)......In summation, a smaller back wheel is a pretty good idea for a mountain bike, just kind of a pain in the ass for not enough gain.(more than it's worth in my opinion, maybe if I was some sort of bicycling superstar trying to edge out opponents any way possible I would do it)
