Crash Video: Andrew Neethling Going a Little Too Long 17

When Andrew Neethling sent this gnarly crash clip from Crankworx L2A, he casually mentions how he "mis-judged braking" for the jump. SHEESH! It's been a rough season for Needles with some brutal crashes that have been caught on film. See Andrew Neethling's Val di Sole Crash Video

He could have soaked a bit more of the jump up with his legs and not gap to FLAT! Didn't judge the gap right.

Needles (maybe we should call him Gnarly Needles from now on?) definitely hits it hard when he does hit the deck. You don't crash like that unless you're pushing the limit and going well outside of your comfort-zone.

Age aside, that's one reason why I'd never reach the pro level.

Damn.

Kinda looks like one of his pedals just bottoms out on the ground and sends him over board, unfortunately right into the face of the next jump.

That sucks!

Woh he was deff mach speed but what about a little scrubba or something? That was terrible from go, complete dead sailor. See even the pros have bad moments, nobody is perfect or immune to fails. If your not crashing then your not trying hard enough, thats rule number 1 in dirt jumping but mach speed dh running is different. Those stack ups add up quick and end careers.

I don't know about dead sailor but I bet he wasn't expecting to get such a boost off that. If he did I'm sure there would've been scrubbing involved.

Lol call it whatever. Where I from when you takeoff and get stiff locking legs and arms in terror knowing you just messed up, its called a dead sailor. Thats jumping 101. When you geezing at mach speed this can happen in a split second as we just saw. Has happened to me on jumps I hit thousand times. Just takes little too much speed, panic attack then get ready to stack it!!!!

Andrew Neethling cannot scrub at 30 mph. There are maybe 4 people in the world that can scrub a mountain bike at 30 mph to get out of trouble. Scrubs are not a normal tool in the downhillers toolbox. Stop using the word scrub.
