Lizard Skins Frame Kit
The Good

good protection, easy install

The Bad

packaging, high cost, not enough material

Overall Review
There are many options for protecting your frame these days. I opted for the Lizard Skins kit as I have used this product in the past (in a smaller kit) and was satisfied with it. To protect a new frame, I opted for the full frame kit and wanted a clear protector to not draw attention to itself and let the frame's paint job shine through. Install was straight forward and easy. I'd recommend going fairly slow to work out bubbles and make sure that the edges are pushed down so dirt doesn't work its way up under the film. Durability is good and I think they have found a good balance of thickness...

Lizard Skins Northshore Lock-On Grip
The Good

Durability, grip, comfort, looks.

The Bad

If you like thin grips, these will be too thick for you.

Function Lock on grips all start to seem the same after a while. These grips break the mold for me. The first cool thing is that Lizard Skins donates a portion of their profit from this grip to the NSMBA which pays for trail building and maintenance on the famed North Shore. I used them for a season, then I got a new bike that came with different grips. I tried to like those but after a week or two I had to switch back to these. The large square pattern gives amazing grip and absorbs vibration well. They remind me of the oldschool 1990's bike grips from when I was a kid. Lizard Skins uses a...

Lizard Skins Peaty Lock-On Grips
The Good

Durable, hard-wearing and solid looking grip

The Bad

Not quite as comfy as half waffle Ruffians (in my opinion)

Overall Review
If you have not ridden with lock on grips yet, you are really missing out, as much as I like to feel like I am riding a moto, twisting grips suck and lock ons fix that issue. Lizards skins has always been my go to choice for frame protection (downtube and chainstay) as I feel like they are pretty thick and durable, but until recently I had not tried their grips. Now that that is out of the way we can get to the grips. In terms of look and feel, they have the same lock on clamps as ODI (think they are made by ODI in fact) which have yet to give me issues as long as I do not overtighten them. I...

Lizard Skins Logo Lock-On Grips

Look great, come in multiple colors, dual lock-on clamps, last a really really long time.

The Bad

Sacrifice comfort for longevity.

There are countless ways to increase performance and improve the feel of your mountain bike, from spending thousands of dollars on new suspension to lowering PSI levels in your tires. One of the less expensive ways to feel better connected to your bike is simply replacing your grips. Theres hundreds of options out there and picking the perfect ones can be hard to do. I've picked up the Lizard Skins Logo Lock-On grips with a recent bike build and with a few months of them, here are my impressions: Specs Multiple color ways Dual Lock-on clamps Length: 130 mm Weight (with plugs): 120grams (119...
