7iDP Project 23 ABS Full Face Helmet
The Good

I just recently face planted the ground after bucking on a drop, and there was apsolutely no damage to my head, not even a headache. The helmet only had some scratches on the chin guard. I highly recommend this helmet. Its value for money is unbeatable. I totally love this helmet. Very comfortable...

The Bad

Nothing really.

Overall Review
Excellent buy for the price. Light, strong, and rigid.

7iDP Project 23 ABS Full Face Helmet
Vital Review
Overall Review
Protection specialist 7iDP has had a few helmets in the line-up over the years, but the Project 23 is by far their most ambitious undertaking in this product category. All the development was done in-house over a period of several years, with the goal of producing a lightweight but downhill-certified helmet that offers good breathability. We tested the carbon version last year with good results, so when the more budget-friendly ABS version became available to us we took the opportunity to check it out as well. After a handful of rides, here are our impressions. Strengths Weaknesses Light...

7iDP Project 23 Carbon Full Face Helmet
Vital Review
Overall Review
In the spring of 2019, 7iDP launched its all-new full-face helmet, dubbed Project.23. The idea was to create a helmet that offered riders incredible protection while keeping their head cool. Using a full shell design (as opposed to in-mold construction) 7iDP packed features like a carbon shell, Fidlock buckle, anti-microbial liner, and more into its premier offering. We've been testing one for over six months now and have drawn our conclusions on how the new helmet from 7iDP stacks up. Strengths Lightweight Impressive airflow Easily removed and installed pads Fidlock Magnetic chin strap buckle...

7iDP Transition Knee Pad
The Good

Nice, light sleeve, Pedal friendly

The Bad

Couldn't get them to stay in place as well as other options

Overall Review
I picked these up as a minimalist, pedal-friendly, trail ride pad. The fabric is very light and breathable, they dry fast, and are durable. These are not something I'd wear to a park or DH track. Similar to the 100% Terratec, these feel like a sleeve w/ a slightly cupped pad that sits on your knee. The TLD Speed and Fox guards I've tried seem to sit flatter but wrap better around my knee cap. I had a hard time w/ the pad moving around on me and keeping them in the right place. I'm not sure if sizing down would help me. Overall they are a nice set of pads. Simple, light, pedal-friendly. They...

7iDP M2 Open Face Helmet
The Good

Comfortable fit for me (I have a longer head shape) Good coverage front, back and sides

The Bad

Padding absorbs moisture like a sponge. The 'Boa' adjustment cords can get caught on things.

Overall Review
The 7iDP M2 is very comfortable, the "Boa" adjustment setup works well to keep the helmet in place without undue pressure points. The only negative on this helmet, and for me it's a big one, is that the padding soaks up moisture like a sponge. And just like a sponge, once it's saturated it doesn't take much to let it all go. One minute I'm riding along, the next a bump on the helmet and a small waterfall results.

7iDP Transition Knee Pad
The Good

-Comfy -Light -Comfy -Breathable -Did I mention comfy? -Quite Durable -Comfy -Reasonably priced

The Bad

-Hard to get a hold of in Norway -Have to take off shoes to take on and off (not that you need to, as you can just live in them)

Overall Review
Bought these 4 seasons ago and are now using them on my daily commute through the woods to and from work. (20km one way, 7 of which is singletrack) I have ridden them in all kinds of conditions from -10C snow to +30C sun. They breathe well, do not slip on me (I'm fairly average and use medium size) and protect me well enought on all the crashes I've had with them. I pull them on, put the lower elastic above my calf muscle and pull the upper well above my knee. When they're on, I don't realize I wear them and have actually forgotten to take them off on several occations. They are not the...

7iDP Sam Hill Knee Pad
The Good

Fit is outstanding, comfortable, solid protection

The Bad

They rip easy, firm when cold.

Overall Review
I have no issues going on a 4 hour ride with these on, provided it is not too hot. They stay in place and seem to provide a good level of protection for trail and enduro riding. I haven't put that claim to use yet though. They are also super easy to clean. I've had these for a year, and the two major complaints I have is that the rear mesh rips very easily and they are stiff when cold. My flat pedals grazed them a couple times on hike a bikes and they are all ripped in the rear now. It doesn't affect the fit or if they move though. Second, when it is cold forget putting these on, they are...

7iDP Sam Hill Lite Knee Pad
The Good

Lite, Comfortable, breathes well

The Bad

Not a ton of protection but that's the point

Overall Review
I love these pads!. These pads are my go to trail pads. They are perfect for long XC type rides or for when its a little cold out. The fit and feel are first class and they always stay up on your leg. I would not recommend them for rocky or aggressive riding or DH. These are also my pads for hot rides like doing "The Whole Enchilada" trail in Moab. I strongly recommend these pads and they really complement the regular Sam Hill pads.
