2017 Trek Slash 9.9 29 Race Shop Limited
Not for the shy
The Good
Stiffness / Geo / Spec / Viper red
The Bad
No carbon wheels as standard / Talas
Overall Review
The slash9.9 is nothing but wildfire, it’s smouldering looks hide what’s it’s built for and that’s speed. The Slash as a whole loves speed the faster you go the suspension starts to sing, traction is never a issue part being 29r and geo/suspension balance. Fox X2 never fails to impress through various content. The downside just sell a kidney and get carbon wheels and the ride evolves further and upgrade to a Float from Talas, it’s a bike that splits the field in half. You may find bike which may

Five Ten Freerider Shoe
The Good
Great price, super sticky and super comfy.
The Bad
Large toe box and super long laces.
Overall Review
After many years of riding clipless, I have been riding flat pedals again. About six months of dabbling later, I decided to upgrade my shoes to something newer. The Five Ten Freerider is the industry standard for the function so I picked up a pair for $80 direct from the Adidas website. The design and construction looks really good. Specialized Butcher GRID Tire
The Good
Super grippy and love those side knobs.
The Bad
Slower rolling than many other tread designs.

I am using the Specialized Butcher Grid tire in the 2.3" size as a rear tire rather than on the front. Most of my local riding is across dry and rocky terrain. Smooth flowing sections are broken up with short steep climbs and challenging descents. I am not smashing laps or railing bike parks so max speed is less of an issue than traction and reliability. The tread design and rubber compound of the Butcher gives me the climbing and cornering traction that I am looking for in a rear tire. Just

Troy Lee Designs Moto Shorts
Overall Review
The Moto short from Troy Lee Designs has been a staple on the gravity scene for over ten years now, so it was high time for a facelift. Sporting all-new construction and features, the 2018 version looks set to pick up right where its predecessor left off, but with extra versatility added to the mix as well. Now that bike park season is finally upon us again, this might be just the ticket for all you gravity fiends out there - and for anybody who enjoys a good day out in the woods building trails

2018 Canyon Spectral AL 6.0
Overall Review
'What a most super special and awesome best good time thing this bike is. For many times of funs and sends, this off-road bicycle will make biggest splash.' Marketing speak be damned, bikes these days are pretty awesome and the Canyon Spectral is no exception. Yes, light carbon wonder-rigs with the most bitching of parts are fantastic. One can even get a Spectral equipped as such. Thing is, the vast majority of us don’t truly need them and can't fully utilize them, much less do we want to shell
