Over the past years we have improved nearly every part of our bikes, yet the dropper post seems to be the one component that still never works quite right. Loaded Precision X-lite Titanium Stem

The Good

Lightest weight stem on the market!

The Bad

Nothing significant to report

I got a new bike and went to my LBS for a CK stem. They didn't have the CK in stock, but they had this Loaded one in. Due to it being lighter than all other stems I bought it. WOW! I'm super impressed and became a Loaded fan girl ever since.

Strong, stiff, allows minimal burping compared to other wheels, hub sounds legit!, lightweight, and look flipping awesome!

The Bad

Not as advertised weight, but lighter than most

I got these because I couldn't afford ENVE or Reynolds. Wow! I was blown away day one and now a year later I'm still stoked on them.

I'm on my second pair of these.... Had to get a second pair (red) to match my bike color change ???? my bike is constantly ridden in mud and ridden hard. They still spin true and haven't had one issue.

2018 Trek Slash 9.8

The Good

• Descending prowess (one of the most capable 29" bikes on the planet)
• Suspension kinematics
• Geometry (in intended environment)
• Fit (long)
• Chassis stiffness
• Eagle drivetrain
• FOX 36 GRIP damper performs better than expected
• Good candidate (long and slack) for playing with reduced offset forks (44, 42mm)
• Good wheels for intended use and price point

The Bad

• ThruShaft shock durability
• Knock Block seems unnecessary
• Value could be better
• Seatpost leaves a lot to be desired
• With pedals my bike weighs a hair under 33-pounds
• Too much bike for most trail riding situations

Hey Vital MTBers, Jeff Brines here! This is not a formal review like I am accustom to doing, just some thoughts on my personal bike – a 2018 Trek Slash 9.8. Yes, this is the bike I paid for and chose as my race bike going into next season (even though I'm not sure how much I'll be racing in the first place). For a guy like me the bike seemed to check most of the boxes – stiff, good suspension kinematics, fits me well (long), bottom bracket that will minimize pedal strikes even running 175mm

Beautiful construction, smooth action, and easy installation

The Bad

Slow shipping, a tad heavy, and a little extra cable length is needed

So far, this has been a great seat post. It's easily the best looking and most well engineered dropper post I've owned. I was concerned install would be difficult, but it was super easy. I used their digit actuator with ispec adapter. Cable installation, shortening, and adjusting is so much simpler and quicker compared to a hydraulic system. I ended up with a longer cable length compared to previous posts, this is partially due to running it through the frame vice externally like on my previous

ODI Longneck ST BMX Grips

Great feel. Size (XL). Price.

Intro I bought the XL version for my trail bike and regular Longneck for my street bike. Review I choose the XL because I was looking for wide grip area as I like to switch hand positions when climbing and cruising. A traditional grip with 135mm of width minus two clamps doesn't cut it. Customizable length and same pattern from flange to bar plug means a comfortable grip all the way to the edge. The bar plug strikes nice balance between flush/inconspicuous and secure/protective.
