Solid overall pad
Rating:
The Good
Stay in place, good protection
The Bad
Not the most pedal-friendly
Overall Review:

I picked these up as a trail ride pad. Sometimes I would put them in my pack for the long forest road uphill and then put on for the fun stuff. They stay in place well thanks to the straps. In fact I think other minimalist pads would work better with something similar (maybe a single strap). They don't fit in a pack very well due to the formed cup of the actual pad. Same w/ when they're around your ankles if you're hot and riding uphill. They are warmer than some of the other pedal-friendly pads out there but the trade off is you get more protection. Overall a nice set of pads for general riding.

I have used POC VPD 2.0, Troy Lee Designs Speed, 7idp Transition, 100% Terratec, and Fox Enduro Pro Guards.

Best Knee Pads I've Owned
Rating:
The Good
They stay up, always, riding or crashing they don't slip all while maintaining complete range of motion. They protect well when I have crashed. They are comfortable. They last, I got over 2 years out of my first pair, over a year into second pair.
The Bad
Can't find anything bad, I would love to try these exact pad with a thin layer of plastic on the outside so they slide even smoother.

I wear these pads every ride, I love them.

Best Pad for riders who downhill and pedal
Rating:
The Good
Comfort, protection, weight, durability
The Bad
Bulky for trail riding
Overall Review:

I've been a fan of POC Knee pads ever since the VPD 1.0 came on the market many years ago.  Although the original knee pad ran hot on summer days, the weight to protection ratio was better than most knee pads on the market and the durability was impressive even after many days in the bike park and long days of shuttling.

The 2.0 version of the knee pad has taken what the original had in terms of protection and durability and elevated the fit and breathability.   The VPD (viscoelastic polymer dough) used in the VPD 2.0 knee pad is pliable at room temperature and cut to encourage articulation.  The wide velcro strap above the knee along with the thinner strap below/behind the knee (and above the calf) allows for a customized fit.

Sizing -  This knee pad (size M) fits me like a glove and I don't really need the straps at all.   The VPD 2.0 knee pad runs small relative to their size guide lines and is stated as such on the POC web site.   I would move up one size.  The recommended size small that I tried on would not even go over my calf.

Breathability - the VPD 2.0 breathes much better than the original version.   But this knee pad is built for durability and comfort so it's going to run hotter than some other knee pads out there with perforated, thinner, fabric.   I ride moderate summer temps (70's F to Low 80's F) and the VPD 2.0 has been comfortable.

I highly recommend this knee pad to riders looking for full coverage knee protection that you can pedal.   Think downhill, shuttle rides, enduro and aggressive trail riding.   Trail riders may want to look elsewhere as the VPD 2.0 knee pad might be overkill.

Great Upgrade to the Original

Great fit, even better protection, comfortable all day
The Bad
Not a whole lot to nit pick
Overall Review:

The fact that I forget I am even wearing these after a few hours is a great sign. Awesome protection in a light weight package. The fitment and breathability is much better than the original pads, and I find these to be more comfortable. I have even pedaled full days in these in a pinch without any problems. Everything the original knee pads were and more.

Good all round pads.
Rating:
The Good
Extremely protective, fairly comfortable, with good movement.
The Bad
Get warm after you have been riding for a considerable length of time or in hot conditions.
Overall Review:
Some of the best pads I have used, great all round, but maybe too much for some people and some riding.
