HT X2 Pedlas
Rating:
The Good
solid, secure
The Bad
If you don't like a solid 'click' in and out, you won't like these
Overall Review:

I've hammered a single paid of these for 4 years now, on three different bikes. They have held up great and although I'm now retiring them, the pair I have still work as designed. I replaced the cleats once in this period. The platform is big - biggest I've seen for clipless pedals, and, in cases where I couldn't get clipped in right away, putting my foot wiht the cleat just in front of the mechanism provided decent traction until I could get clipped back in.

These pedals have a solid click and release - the opposite of crank brothers, and even more definded than Shimano. I like that, but not all people will.  I wouldn't hesitate to buy another pair.

Good and bad luck

Held feet securely.
The Bad
Hard to clip into. Pedals broke and I was unable to take them apart.
Overall Review:

I got a pair of X2's coming from crankbrothers. It took me a little bit to learn how to clip in quickly. Once I learned it wasn't too bad but still stiff to clip in. However the pedals held my feet very well and never came unclipped randomly.

Now onto the bad. The bearings would always be coming loose. This wasn't too big of a deal but after about 8 months of using the pedals the nut that holds the pedal together was unable to be tightened. In addition to this, the nut was unable to be removed. It spun in either direction and nothing happened. This of course greatly confused me and everyone I showed. The pedal was also still very much held together and could not be pulled apart. The same thing then happened to the other pedal. I am still unsure of what exactly happened. The nut was not stripped and was spinning. And the spindle appeared to be ok but the pedal was still being held together. I even mounted the pedal in a vice and hammered on it but it wouldn't come apart. Over time the bears became more loose and I needed to replace the pedals. HT was probably the least helpful company I ever dealt with and just got put in a circle from talking to corporate and the importer for a warranty. Switched to saint pedals and haven't looked back.
