Overall Review:

I purchased these pedals to go on my gravel bike, a 2018 Specialized Diverge. The idea being I can be clipped in for the majority of the ride; and switch to the flats when going downhill or climbing steep, slippery terrain and having the ability to put my foot out as needed. After 2 years of these pedals, they have mostly lived up to that expectation.

The clipped in side works as intended, and I haven't had any issues so far. Mud is no problem, getting in and out of the pedal is effortless, and it's been secure for 2 years despite some relatively beat up cleats. The flat pedal portion was my major concern. While wearing MTB clipless shoes, the grip is OK, but not great. Better than hybrids I've tried that just had molded pins, or non-replaceable pins. Best I have tried, but still room for improvement, but your mileage may vary depending on shoe. Throw on a pair of flat pedal MTB shoes, and it's much better. Almost comparable to a dedicated flat shoe, but not as grippy. The lack of more pins would likely be the cause of that, also noting the lack of pins in the center of the pedal anywhere. The amount of exposed pin could also be greater to add to the grip, but that is easily solved with some aftermarket pins.

Overall, there aren't many Hybrid pedals on the market, let alone ones with a solid flat pedal side. I feel these are one of the better, if not best, choice currently but there is still room for improvement.
