Great bike, uphill and down
Rating:
The Good
Pedaling efficiency, suppleness, maneuverability, stability, grippy tires, weight, break modulation
The Bad
Brakes a little too weak for pure downhill
Overall Review:

I got my bike about 3 months ago and I absolutely love it. I live in a fairly flat area with several downhill parks within driving distance for a day trip. I wanted a bike that could handle a bigger guy (250 lbs+) at a bike park, and still peddle good on local trails. I am super happy with what this bike is. The new suspension linkage looks complicated and I haven't had to do any maintenance on it yet, but the way it performs on the trail is worth every headache and extra penny. There is little to no peddle bob when I am going up fire roads or riding around on the local cross country trails. It actually peddles better than my old 120 MM single pivot cross country/trail (2014 Giant Stance) bike despite the weight increase. Downhill, this bike is plush and grips great in the corners. I haven't noticed any bottom outs, despite it happening multiple times on the trail. My only gripe with this bike is because the brakes have 2 smaller pistons in the calipers, it doesn't have as much stopping power as other 4 piston brakes. However, the bake modulation is great and my brakes only let me down after a few hours of riding at a park when my arms start to fade, so it really isn't much of an issue for most days on the trail. If you do lots of park laps, I would suggest upgrading to a 200mm or bigger rotor or upgrading to a beefier brake caliper.
