First Look: 2015 Cannondale Jekyll 27.5, Trigger 27.5 and Lefty SuperMax Fork 1

New for 2015, the Cannondale Jekyll makes the move to 27.5-inch wheels. The bike has been increased to 160mm of travel front and rear, features updated geometry, a fresh Fox DYAD rear shock tune, and a new Lefty SuperMax fork. The Jekyll 27.5 and Lefty SuperMax are Cannondale’s first 27.5-inch specific products. Travel is adjustable down to 95mm using a remote on the bars.

The head angle has been slackened out to 67-degrees, and the seat angle increased to 74.9-degrees for a better pedaling position.

The 2015 Jekyll range will consist of four models - two carbon and two aluminum - the Jekyll Carbon Team 27.5, Jekyll Carbon 27.5, Jekyll 27.5 3, and Jekyll 27.5 4. Complete bike weight for the Carbon Team model is just 26-pounds. It's also available as carbon frame/fork/shock package.

Expect to see Cannondale OverMountain team riders Mark Weir, Ben Cruz, Jason Moeschler and team newcomer Marco Osborne aboard the new Jekyll 27.5 and SuperMax fork at the Enduro World Series this season.

2015 Trigger 27.5

The Trigger will also be available in the 27.5 variety for 2015 with adjustable travel of 85 or 140mm via the DYAD RT2 shock. It is equipped with a 140mm SuperMax fork that varies only by the internal cartridge and less travel. Like the Jekyll, the head angle has been slackened to 68-degrees and the seat angle increased by 0.5-degrees.

The Trigger 27.5 is available in three carbon and two aluminum versions, in addition to two 29-inch carbon models that will remain unchanged from 2014.

FOX Dyad RT2 Shock

The 2015 DYAD RT2 pull shock gains a sleeker look and a new piston designed to optimize the flow of the oil and ensure better damping performance, especially at medium and high speeds. It now runs 30% instead of 40%, which was part of the reason why the bikes were made slacker.

Lefty SuperMax Fork

The new SuperMax fork will come standard on both the Jekyll and Trigger, at least on the higher end models. In the 160mm travel variety, it weighs 4.01-pounds (1,850 grams) and maintains the excellent lateral stiffness the unique designs is well known for. A new Wide Mouth Piston increases the small bump sensitivity and high-speed suppleness of the fork. Offset for the 27.5-inch fork is 50mm. The PBR "soft" lockout is located at the top of the fork leg and is easy to reach.

Availability is slated for May, 2014. Keep an eye on www.cannondale.com for more details, and be sure to catch our 10 photo gallery of Jerome's 2014 Jekyll Carbon 27.5 race bike.
