Could this be the start of something new for Transition? A new suspension platform perhaps? Lars is racing an aluminum prototype at Winter Park that looks like it's ready to rally. He's certainly pumped on it. We'll bring you more details when they're available.

Is this horst link though? the chainstay looks like it goes straight back from the pivot, conversely horst link usually goes upward. The difference being, since the after-pivot chainstay piece on a horst link moves through the travel, it gets more in line with the front half, creating chainstay growth, and moving the rear wheel back(through the first part of the travel, anyway.)

Since this doesn't start at an angle, won't the chainstay shorten as the pivot moves? it reminds me more of the Breezer suspension design.

Well, generically Horst. Actually, almost identical to Ellsworth's ICT and very similar to Rocky Mtn.s design. That bike will behave almost identical to a Horst bike when loaded (sagged).

Actually liked my old transition, except for how it reacted like every other single pivot under braking, But I've never ridden an Ellsworth I liked. Hopefully I'll get a chance to demo this guy at the dirt demo.

I'm not much of a Transition fan, but that is the best looking bike they have made yet; classic profile with modern tube shapes and angles. Haters will hate, but I like it.

First bike brand, who builds a horst link after the end of Specializeds patent in North America?

Boring of that whole design. Prototype?? That could be a 2006 kona coiler delux. Every company use that tired ass design, but transition is putting the rear pivots on the chain stays like it's supposed to be. Thats about the only thing fresh on the whole bike.

That's no single pivot bike. It's a Horst-Link one. The front triangle looks almost like Rocky Mountain's slopestyle bike though.

All that said, I like it. Transition has always been guided by the KISS principle.

Ah so it is. Missed the pivot just forward of the seat and chain stay connection pivot.
