2017 Sweet Protection Apparel and Knee Guards

Image

Sweet Protection has some sweet apparel in addition to their protection. The display item that caught my eye and drew me in like a moth to the flame was the new Women's Hunter Enduro Short. This short seen in an awesome, flashy ruby red, is a pedal friendly trail/enduro riding short made from a soft, 2-way stretch fabric with articulated knees curtesy of Sweet Protection's 3-D design software used for designing all their products.

Other good bells and whistles for these shorts included zippered leg vents and pockets, Velcro waist adjusters, and laser perforated venting along the inseam. Brianna from Sweet Protection's US office in Colorado likes to wear her Hunter shorts for downhill riding at Keystone.

This new riding short goes great with either the Chiwaukum T, a simple, lightweight, tailor-fitted, short-sleeve jersey, or the new Badlands Merino long-sleeve jersey. This long-sleeved jersey felt super soft and would be good for cooler rides. It also touts the benefits of merino wool such as odor resistance, breathability, moisture management, and temperature management. I'd definitely wear that.

Ladies, you may also find interesting Sweet Protection's three Bearsuit knee protection options suitable for light trail, enduro, or downhill riding. New for 2017 is the lightest, the Bearsuit Knee Guards. These are thinner, providing bump and scratch knee protection, and are good for lots of pedaling.

They use Sas-Tec padding, a material similar to what you are familiar with in G-Form pads that is flexible until it takes an impact. Then it is hard and provides the protection you need. These guards have silicone grippers to keep them up and have a breathable mesh material at the back of the knee. Moving up a level from the Bearsuit Knee Guards are the still pedal-friendly, but a little more protective Bearsuit Light Knee Pads for enduro riding. Then the burliest is the Bearsuit Pro Knee Pads, a zip-off pad for downhill riding. These later two options also use Sas-Tec. Prices for the lightweight knee guard, endure knee pad, and downhill knee pad are $116, $119, and $149 respectively.

And if you are a lady who likes elbow protection too, FYI, Sweet Protection will also offer lightweight Bearsuit Elbow Guards and more protective Bearsuit Elbow Pads.

These new items will be available March 1, 2017. More details at www.sweetprotection.com.
