First Look: 2013 Specialized Enduro Expert EVO - Now Bigger And Badder

View as: Slideshow | One Page
Does this look like a fun bike or what? The new Enduro Expert EVO replaces the SX Trail in Specialized's 2013 lineup.
Out back, the super adjustable Cane Creek Double Barrel coil shock has been customized to fit Specialized's "wishbone" link. Travel has been increased to 180mm.
Slack angles and a burly Fox fork combine to keep it steady on the steeps.
It's also available in the base Enduro EVO model shown here, which features a toned-down build kit that's still plenty capable.
There's a lime green version, too.
Some parts carry over from last year's model, while others get a big upgrade, including the Kashima-coated 180mm Fox 36 Van RC2 fork.
A SRAM Type 2 rear derailleur, Avid X0 Trail brakes, and dual ring Gamut guide round out the build nicely. Expect to see this rig on some crazy adventures under Specialized's riders.
Complete Enduro EVO and Enduro Expert EVO models should be available later this year in the $3000 to $6000 range. Check out www.Specialized.com for more details.

Description
You've seen the 2013 Enduros, but have you seen this new ride? Specialized introduced us to the revamped Enduro Expert EVO at Crankworx. They bumped up the travel from 160 to 180mm for the new year, making it even more capable of tackling any terrain, including rough DH courses. Here's the key though - with the build they spec'd you could likely pedal it back UP for another lap. - Photos by Dave Trumpore
