Intro Text

Luca Shaw sums it up quite nicely by saying a variety in tracks is a good thing and if Leogang were so easy, why were there more course holds from crashes than any other World Cup this year? Don't let the bike park fool you as speeds go ludicrous, smiles get wider and the vibes stay positive in Austria.

Bernard Kerr hopping and popping out of the off-camber rut up top of the track and snags the fastest timed run of the day. -Sven Martin
Luca Shaw on a solid run with a solid head on his shoulder. Making Stikman proud. -Sven Martin
Eddie and Rupert scum and footprint their way into the photo corner. Different teams this year but cut from the same cloth. -Sven Martin
I guess every photog is pretty stoked if he gets an aggressive Aaron-Gwin-training shot. Like Sam Hill, he generally keeps the wild times for the finals. @maddogboris
This wasn't the only helicopter landing on the mountain today. Unfortunately fast tracks mean bigger consequences. Neko, who didn't need a helicopter thankfully in audio -Dan Hearn
Charlie Harrison leaning it over in the photo corner. Intense kits are wildly bright this year. -Sven Martin
Troy Brosnan enjoying a hot lap with Brendog. -Dan Hearn
The white kit looking good under clean sunny skies. Perfect form on the high line above the off camber rut for Loic, who's pumped. -Sven Martin
This was the state of the first corner within 2 hours of the start of practice. Greg Williamson in audio. -Dan Hearn
Greg Minnaar testing every line, including this wild, grassy bank inside a soft, loamy off-camber. -Dan Hearn

Brook. Dude. @mayhemmedia
Brook looks at Louisa Freudenberg's sequence of his near-death ejection. Lucky guy. Tough guy. -Sven Martin
Brook, the corner before the big spill. @maddogboris
Off-camber motostyle maddness by Loic Bruni! @maddogboris
Manon will be looking for a win here. She has done it before and looked good out there today. -Sven Martin
Scotty Mears never lacks in the style department. Out of the start cannon and into the air on the first jump of the track. -Sven Martin
Another angle of the same jump. -Sven Martin
It looks like this is all fans will be able to see of Rachel Atherton this weekend after her horrific shoulder separation. -Sven Martin
Some discussions between the riders about some poles placements and lip steepness. Working together for a better and safer (not easier) race track. -Sven Martin
Media Squid #1 slowly figuring out the business end of a camera. -Sven Martin
Peter Bethell from down under in NZ about to time travel through the first tunnel. If only it was that simple to get to NZ. -Sven Martin
You can't miss Jack Moir. This colorful cat is looking fast once again. -Sven Martin
Jay Williamson squashing one of the flyer senders. High-speed racing here in Leogang. -Sven Martin
Brendan gets the upsize. Or is it upgrade? -Sven Martin
Brendan had a massive crash today, saved by a safety catch net. If you look at his splits though he was second-fastest up until the third split. -Sven Martin
Shaun Richards from Great Britain rails around the first turn which rapidly rutted out early this morning. -Sven Martin
Decal swap out for the next round, FOX have some neat custom fork backers for each round. -Sven Martin
Loosedawg Laurie. @maddogboris
Thrills with Atwill. Yesterday he forgot his helmet for the bunnyhop contest and today he seems to forget his DH bike for his first practice run. @maddogboris
Tahnee, full attack mode! She's obvisously hungry to be back on the podium that's for sure. @maddogboris
All smiles and grins today. Haven't seen and heard so many stoked riders after training, especially after yesterday's thoughts from some riders about the track. @maddogboris
Early Group B practice with perfect conditions for Juniors and Women. Fingers crossed for dry finals. @maddogboris
2/3 of your daily dose of Vital's World Cup slideshow madness! @maddogboris
BRRRAAAPPPPP! First pic taken at today's practice. @maddogboris
We stand behind it...a 29er doesn't look any less aggressive or wild than 27.5-inch wheels, especially if Danny Hart's the pilot. @maddogboris
7th-faster rider today, Connor Fearon, always brings the perfect amount of style we need for sick pics. @maddogboris
Mark Wallace still rocking the number 4 plate. Let's see if he can put a lower number on after Leogang! @maddogboris
Fully focused Ausrtian Local, Markus Pekoll! He always does well in front of his home crowd. @maddogboris
Have you ever thought about where your Rob Warner gets his track information from? Rob knows, #dontpissintothewind @maddogboris
@danhearn @work shooting @lorisvergier @bikeparkleogang @maddogboris
Is it winning streak time for Tracey Hannah? @maddogboris
It's good to be back in the mountains of Austria. @maddawgphotoz
Semi slick tires were a common sight, seen here on Laurie's bike. Matt Simmonds even rode one on the front for a while! -Dan Hearn
Remi Thirion finding landmines and charging hard. -Dan Hearn
Morgane Charre pushing the limits on flat pedals in timed training. -Dan Hearn
Lachlan Blair, here showing some style, unfortunately crashed later in the day and broke his femur. Heal up fast bro! -Dan Hearn
Emyr Davies determined not to be 81st again this race and putting in the laps today. Some rad inside lines and style on the jumps too! -Dan Hearn
Baxter Maiwald throwing some style over the opening jump. The start ramp has been made steeper and the first jump grown to match. -Dan Hearn
Matt Walker: fastest in timed training for the groms. His confidence is high coming off a win in Fort William just 5 days ago. -Dan Hearn
Finn put down two solid timed training runs and ended the day in second place. He and Matt Walker have a 7 second lead over the remaining Juniors. -Dan Hearn
Vaea Verbeeck boosting over the first lip in morning practice, ending in second place. The wind was so severe in the afternoon, riders were riding around the jump to avoid getting blown off course. -Dan Hearn
Mountain Mongo in Mountain Germany -Dan Hearn
Leogang is all about finding time in the spaces in between. Pardon the dust midgies, it's actually dry and dusty this weekend. Zach Faulkner
