Intro Text

What many thought would be the typical, pedally American enduro race was a battle against rocks, dust, altitude and some of the most challenging conditions of the year. The Enduro World Series from Northstar is in the books with Sven Martin and @maddogboris covered in dust to bring us the excitement.

Richie Rude is absolutely killing it. @maddogboris
Not domination, rather a head-to-head battle with Sam Hill. Richie did enough to take another win today! -Sven Martin
Richie Rude sends it while Ed Masters does a selfie. -Sven Martin
Richie going a bit more inside than most. Straighter, shorter and faster, but also riskier and incredibly difficult at speed. -Sven Martin
Three stage wins and three second-fastest times for Isabeau Courdurier, she wins another EWS! Congrats. @maddogboris
Isabeau seals the season overall with her win today. That's 7 in a row with one more race to go. Can she make it a perfect season? -Sven Martin
French Junior, Antoine Vidal, with three stage wins and victory in Northstar. @maddogboris
Lucy Schick won half the stages on offer and that was enough to take the win in women U21. -Sven Martin
Sam Hill. How close was that? Leading into the last stage by a fraction of a second, he gave it his all only to come up .81 seconds short to Richie. It stung. He has moved closer to the number one spot in the series rankings though with only one round left to go. -Sven Martin
Finish approach by Sam Hill. He finished the 6 stages just 0.81 seconds behind Richie. @maddogboris
Noga Korem with consistent strong riding and a stage win sealed her podium position, second place. -Sven Martin
American Junior, Duncan Nason, 5 seconds of the win behind Antoine Vidal. @maddogboris
Mitch Ropelato says he was just on autopilot and it didn't feel like he did anything special. He's in a good place right now. -Sven Martin
Freaking rad Mitch Ropelato! After winning King of Crankworx in Whistler last week he now got his first EWS Podium with a 3rd place. @maddogboris
Bets won and lost. If Mitch podiumed Boris was to get his Jersey, but Mitch gets to choose Boris's next tattoo. Suggestions in the comments please. -Sven Martin
ALN, with a stage win on five today. Low and focused gets you there. -Sven Martin
Ines Thoma got her confidence, speed and consistency back. Another 4th place for the German! @maddogboris
Florian Nicolai had a bit trouble adjusting to the terrain here in Northstar. He is still leading the Overall even with a 13th Place today. @maddogboris
Somehow Kevin Miquel still managed an eighth place overall with a 37th and 45th in the results and a couple of crashes. He's due another podium any day now. -Sven Martin
Yeah Isabeau! @maddogboris
Three riders who are pretty familiar with the podium recently. -Sven Martin
Karim Amour took another win after an huge battle with Cedric Ravanel. Less than half a second separated them after all the racing. -Sven Martin
WOW! Cedric Ravanel was just 0.46 seconds off the win behind Karim Amour after 28 minutes of racing. @maddogboris
Alba Wunderlin all the way from Switzerland wins the Masters Women's class today. -Sven Martin
Junior, Isabella Naughton, with a couple stage wins and 2nd overall. @maddogboris
Wyn Masters awarding this week's Privateer of the Race award. Matt Stuttard with a self-supported 14th place. -Sven Martin
Less Steeze Jumps = Faster Race Runs? So cool to Cody Kelley finish the race in 7th. @maddogboris
Amy Morrison with a flat on stage five, turns it all around on stage six with a stage win bringing her back to seventh for the Northstar regular. Impressive stuff, not too many women have managed to snag stage wins from Tracey, Anne, Isabeau and Cecile, who all have the lions share. -Sven Martin
McKay Vezina's best result with a solid top ten in some insanely difficult conditions. -Sven Martin
Yeah Mckay! Top10 for the canadian Giant Rider. He had his best Stage Result on Stage 6 with a 4th Place. @maddogboris
Morgane Charre had some issues on stage four and dropped back a few spots to sixth position, which is still a great result here. -Sven Martin
That's just the start of it. What a gnarly save by Jesse Melamed (see the first clip in today's RAW). Also pretty impressive that he finished 5th with a still-broken finger. @maddogboris
Thanks for having us Randy! @maddogboris
Martin Maes up on the newly built stage four. Two new cool trails were cut and opened for this race. -Seb Schieck.
Martin Maes wasnt really happy with his 4th place. Doesnt matter, he's already focusing on World Champs DH in MSA next week. @maddogboris
Loris Vergier was out watching this weekend. -Sven Martin
Shawn Neer sprinting through the finishline. 11th place for the Colorado shredder! @maddogboris
Trek Factory Racer Katy Winton was looking strong all weekend. 5th place for the Brit. @maddogboris
Kevin using everything he has and then some for some quick braking! -Sven Martin
Your Junior podium. -Sven Martin
Greg Callaghan choosing one of many lines through an uber-wide rock garden. In fact I'm not sure we can call them rock gardens here, they are rock sections, gardens are too short. -Sven Martin
Utah Boyz celebrating with full-strength beers. -Sven Martin
Without a doubt the best spectator award goes to WTB's Heather. Keeping the vibes and positivity flowing, -Sven Martin
Anita Gehrig waking up to stage three this morning. What a way to start your day! -Sven Martin
Jose Borges with intense focus through one of the long, tricky rock gardens. -Sven Martin
Matt Walker holding it down for the Pivot team with another top ten. Hovering near the top five all day until two crashes in the last two stages bumped him back to ninth. -Sven Martin
Thomas Lapeyrie smashing through the rocks on Stage 3. 37th place and a bit of a struggle for the fast Frenchman. @maddogboris
Geoff Kabush on his first EWS podium (Masters). One more result to add to his already impressive resume. -Sven Martin
Becky Cook from the Orbea Enduro Team with an 8th today. -Sven Martin
Theo Galay streaking through the rock garden. -Sven Martin
Canada's Kasper Woolley has been right in the mix all year and brings home a podium today. -Sven Martin
Noga with the dubs gang signs. -Sven Martin
Miranda Miller hasn't had the result she was looking for, but still loved the riding in Northstar. @maddogboris
Adrien Dailly was one of the sickest riders to watch in the rock garden. Now he just has to work on his leg power! @maddogboris
Sven sweeping the track after the last racer left the stage. @maddogboris
Cheers Remi Gauvin! 12th for the Canadian. @maddogboris
Lauren Bingham with a 4th Place in the U21 Women's category. @maddogboris
Eddie on his way to get surgery before finals. They already finished his hand before we finished editing these shots. @maddogboris
German Bulls Rider, Christian Textor, with another good result. @maddogboris
Junior Kiwi, Brady Stone, on his way to P4 here in Northstar. @maddogboris
Stay tuned for Pinkbike's new "EWS RAW" Series :) @maddogboris
Take care of your kids out there! @maddogboris
Josh Carlson with a solid 15th position. @maddogboris
The riders had to give everything to race the gnarly tracks in Northstar @maddogboris
