Greg Minnaar was somewhat surprised to hear he went fastest with a bit of an imperfect run. He has one of the best heads for World Champs pressure and nerves. Experience means so much at the one day race. -Sven Martin
Rachel Atherton, almost twenty seconds quicker than the rest of the field. But who had clean runs? Did Rachel even have a clean run. We will see tomorrow. -Sven Martin
Same line, same faces in the background, Remi blowing minds in his timed run. Second to Greg by the smallest of gaps. -Duncan Philpott
Ratboy again not in the most conventional shape, however this particular stance has been an extremely common sight as riders battle with the greasy conditions. Slotting in just behind Remi and equally as close to Greg. -Duncan Philpott
It's only timed training but everyone wants to know how much time Pompon's crash cost her. Only she will know. -Sven Martin
Sam Blenkinsop is completely in control here and remaining as spastic as ever. It's no surprise to see Blenki up there in the mix. 4th in timed runs and raging the bike down the track with confidence. -Duncan Philpott
Simmonds was 2nd at the 2nd split but a few moments like this put him back to 5th. -Duncan Philpott
Loic ran the data acquisition setup during his timed run today. "The run was nothing special," to quote the promising French man. You can never write him off (and he's gordo's OTB pick) #extrapressure. -Duncan Philpott
Opting to skip the early morning slippery practice, Gee's first run today was his timed run. He said it wasn't the best choice in hindsight. If anyone has the mind for race day, it's this guy. @maddogboris
Sam Hill in the mud. What else can you say? As soon as the rain fell and the track got greasy, Hill seemed to transform into his old self. -Fraser Britton
No longer a wet slop, now sticky, goopy mud. We're all hoping it becomes perfect come race runs. -Duncan Philpott
Gwin charging his last practice run of the day. 6.6-seconds off the pace has us all guessing. -Fraser Britton
This morning the conditions were super slick and greasy. The 7:30am practice threw another curveball with the early starts and warm-ups for the women. -Duncan Philpott
Some wished they were still back in bed. -Sven Martin

Brendog was killing it today... @maddogboris
...until he put an end to his storming speed through this section by comically high-siding through this gap in the trees. No crash probably meant a Top 5. -Duncan Philpott
Troy Brosnan, mobbing! 5-seconds off, most thought he'd be a little closer, but only he knows how hard he pushed and how legit his run was. @maddogboris
Loris on a line no one else could get to. So subtle, he set up earlier around the rock instead of below it, then hopped the rut and straightened the next corner. Not easy at the speed and with the surface. #frenchforjedi -Sven Martin
Tracey Hannah in the final steep, wet, muddy chute. -Sven Martin
Sleeves up, rallying down. Another to fall victim of unsuspecting corners and crashing in his timed run, Brook MacDonald landing just outside the Top 20. -Duncan Philpott

Neko Mulally had better days. Thankfully there's tomorrow! -Mikael Soares
Teagan Molloy didn't double knot her laces before her timed run. They got jammed in her chain for more than a few minutes. She won't make the same mistake again. -Sven Martin
When they think you work for Pinkbike, they tow your car. Duncan explained he works for Vital and they actually paid him for the inconvenience. -Fraser Britton
Foot out, flat out and one of the few Juniors who didn't look out of place in the merged practice was Andrew Crimmins. -Duncan Philpott
Rider by rider, the light improved until the point where the sun broke above the mountains directly in their vision and suddenly made it all harder to see again! -Duncan Philpott
A first for the week. The sun emerging from behind the mountains to dowse us in golden light. -Duncan Philpott
Veal Verbeeck through the fog eminating from the baking muddy surface. -Sven Martin
While the DH dried up somewhat and got "easier," the Elite XCO race remained greasy and treacherous. History was made in the women with Pauline Prevot taking the win, adding to the road and cyclecross World Championship gold medals she has already won this year. Amazing. -Sven Martin
Danny's seeding run wasn't quite up to expectations, but there's still plenty left in the tank. -Duncan Philpott

A solitary Tom Duncan with a fairly easy day being personal course sweep mechanic to Steve Peat. -Duncan Philpott
Gianluca isn't only a wizard behind the lens, the sound of his bass sets the late night pits to a groove. #nottheseinfeldriff -Duncan Philpott
Loic, textbook. That is all. @maddogboris
The early Sam gets the worm and we hope he gets some metallic hardware as a result of his race day performance. Stay tuned for the big show in just a few hours!!! -Fraser Britton

Description

Greg Minnaar, 1st place in timed training, said there are lot of decisions to be made between now and race day tomorrow. The sun came out, the track is drying up, but there are still tricky portions of the course and arguably no one had a solid top-to-bottom run during timed training. At World Champs, timed training is the only official glimpse into race day speeds and today we got that glimpse.

Our hearts are pounding on the eve of the 2015 UCI Mountain Bike Downhill World Championships.

Sven Martin, Duncan Philpott, @maddogboris and Fraser Britton snappin' the goods.
