Transition went back to the drawing board with their TR450, redesigning pretty much everything from the ground up. New hydroformed top tube, integrated fork bump stops, internal routing in both the main frame and swingarm, two dropout positions for stability tweaks and more... Perhaps the greatest thing is that it still looks like a TR450 (queue the forum jockeys).

This new TR450 is smart! Adjustable geo is perfect for a lot of riders who want a playful and serious dh bike in one. I'm saving for one now.. And I can personally attest to Transition's excellent customer service, they care about their riders.. Thanks you guys!

i really do not understand all the 'hate' ive seen so far reguarding this frame.. its just a refined version of the OG one.. its not like they chose a new linkage and changed everything else! i also really think its smart of them to combine the 250 and the 450 to make it one very versatile frame. wish more companies would follow suit!

Hey Der, this is Lars from Transition Bikes. I can assure you that this is as far as you can get from a catalog design. For one that's not really how it works. We designed the original TR-450 in our offices in Bellingham Wa USA. And this is a continuation of that. I cannot tell you the countless hours upon hours we've spent working on this redesign. where you can actually see the multiple renditions that led to the finished product you see here. There are more than a couple brands who have copied the original TR450 over the years...

Hmmm I like Transition as brand, and I liked their TR450, but this new "from the ground redesign" looks pretty much like a generic taiwanese frame. Airborne is buying it to. I like the frame I just dont like the fact of many brands using the same frames it gives me the feeling they are cheap ... Why pay for a this transition bike when the same frame on the Airborne will be much cheaper!

Put them side by side, definitely not the same frame. Seat bracing is different, downtube and rear dropouts are also very different. Similar lines and linkage, but the devil is in the details, right. I love what they have done with this frame. Adjustable travel is awesome, 250 and 450 in one bike. I could see one of these in my garage one day.

Exactly, the devil is in the details. You can see the quality and how well thought out all the little details on transition frames are. My last Tr450 frame was running like brand new after almost 50 days in the bike park, and I have no doubt that this one will too, plus now it's lighter and the wheels are bigger.

I agree with that, perhaps it is the other way around before the TR450 there wasnt a frame similar to it in the market now there are a couple. Taiwan following Washington?
