He should talk more about development in Austin. Texans LOVE buying things that are even remotely Texan.
Btw, I've installed a few sets of these now. For the record they're really not that bad. RTFM.

Interesting. My only small grumble is that a tyre does have its own damping - from the rubber.
Rubber dampens both the carcass and through the tread itself. Different compounds and treads make easily noticeable differences in tyre dampening

absolutely agree. Very bouncy tires will benefit more (Maxxs exo, Sch snakeskin, Continental Der K/Der .. but when you change from one of these to DD/DH or Sch SG there is a world or improvement in damping/traction from the tire alone... Not saying that cushcore wouldn't be better, dont know, curious, havent tried it yet..

I actually run DH casings on the front purely for the damped feel. For me it’s a bit like a slacker head angle, I find it confidence inspiring being able to point the front wheel at nasty lines and know it won’t bounce off. It was a a huge thing for me the first time I rode super damped tyres and I’ll never go back. But still haven’t tried cushcore...tbh the added hassle and cost don’t seem worth it but I guess until I try I can’t talk smack.

Love the idea.. Can barely get my tires off the original Envy M70s I'm running as it is.. Took me a half hour the first time. If I put these in there, I'd never get the tire off again.. dig the concept though.

ha, yeah I've seen a mate struggle with those original Enve wheels, they look tough to get a tyre off of!

Ordered myself a pair after this podcast. Really had no idea the effect on the suspension travel these played!

Ha, so did I. Was going to try a DD rear tire this season, but decided to try cushcore with my current EXO instead.

I'm really curious to try this too but I just set up new wheels and got crazy and made them Schrader valve tubeless. I hate Presta. Not sure I can make this work as is. Also curious if you get a flat way out somewhere how hard is it to get a tube going to get home?

We've found the majority of flats can be remedied with a plug kit. However, if you do get a catastrophic failure, like a sidewall tear, you can just ride flat since CushCore "locks" the bead on and protects your rim. With this type of failure a tube wouldn't likely help anyway. Regarding the valves, you may be able to modify your Schrader to mimic the function of our valves.

I like this product and I think a tube can fix the problem of a sidewall tear, why not? Just put something in betwin the tube and tire. Riding a flat tire with Cushcore don't looks safe.
