They offered me $150 for last years $1800 carbon wheel set. And $700 bucks for a year old $3200 carbon frame.

I bought my wife's 2018 Juliana Strega CR bike from them - for $2500! It was practically brand new. Since then, I have never seen a Strega selling for close to that amount - anywhere. I can't speak for anything else they sell...but that was a hell of a deal.

Just sounds like a car dealer ship with slightly better marketing. I’m perfectly capable of selling my own cars and bikes thank you. And I’ll do better out of it both financially and from a service point of view. If I want to get shafted I’d at least by an actual new bike.

Do you provide a warranty or returns with all the bikes and cars you sell? Thought not.

When it comes to service based businesses, it's always possible to do it cheaper yourself...without the service part. There's always risk when buying second hand, whether it's a car or a bike. This is great for people who don't mind paying a little extra for convenience and peace of mind. It's a good idea, well executed.

Absolutely, if you don’t mind and would rather hand over cash and trust somebody else more than yourself to check a bike over then have at it. I do mind, that’s all I was saying. I agree it’s a decent business idea but that’s a long ways from me thinking it’s a good service for myself and the people they aim to serve.
I buy an sell bikes often purely because spending money isn’t part of the sport for me. There isn’t a lot of money in it and nor should there be. Which means these guys must be buying low and selling high (very high looking at the website) by slapping a ‘warranty’ on it. Create your own warranty people (after all it is in the hands of the buyer in the second hand market) and learn to simply buy with care is my advice and keep businesses out of the second hand market.
Of course if you disagree, I’m perfectly baboon.

MDI! Given that carbon fibre does crack. As well as alloy and steel. What if you guys had a machine/jig that you could put a stripped down frame into in order to test its structural soundness. Is one side flexing more than another? Hold it there and look for the crack.Perhaps a basic stress test that all frames must pass before resale?

there are NDT (non-destructive tests - thermography, ultrasonics, x-rays etc)) for that. No need to take the frame up to breaking point. and remember, if the frame is cracked in a highly stressed early, the breaking point is likely to be much lower than the design breaking strength. Why test to failure if it could be repaired.

I never said anything about a destructive test. Just give it a nudge and See if it wants to move too easily, thus indicating a crack.

I bought my latest trail ripper from TPC, a 2018 Orbea Rallon. I must say I was prepared to expect a few things "off", but upon inspection after unboxing, I was pleasantly surprised. My bike had new tires, and even new grease packed in the headset. I would not hesitate to recommend The Pro's Closet to any budget minded mountain biker in search of their next ride.
