Product Spotlight: Shovel Components

Shovel's story began in 2010 with several bike enthusiasts and adrenaline-lovers.

Today Shovel is a serious business that continues spreading on the world market.

Shovel's business is growing with each day and our products are now recognized all over the world as high-end products with unique design and unmatched quality.

In our production process, we only use the best materials and recognizable Shovel design made by our engineers, and ultimately we produce light-weight products that are at the same time optimized for shredding

We are constantly expanding our capacity because at the moment the demand for Shovel products is exceeding our expectations. In order to get you even better acquainted with Shovel, we've decided to describe some of our most popular products.

One25 Downhill Chainguide

Some tech stuff:

Downhill Carbon Chainguide

  • Shovel Downhill Carbon Chainguide, with ONLY 95 grams of weight, is the lightest downhill racing chainguide on the market.
  • Weight of the chainguide is currently at the minimum allowed, yet maintaining the toughness of alloy versions.
  • Downhill Carbon chainguide is ultimate lightweight downhill chainguide, used by downhill World Cup racers as well as everyday riders.
  • The taco is made of hard and durable PA plastic, resistant to impacts, with three points of stress relief connected to the backplate.
  • Titanium hardware is used to tighten all the parts of the chainguide.
  • The combination of carbon backplate, titanium hardware makes this chainguide what it is, the best and the lightest World Cup chainguide.

Some tech stuff:

  • Weight: Only 95 grams
  • Chainring range: 28-36T Regular, 28-34T Oval
  • ISCG05

Eighty8 Enduro Chainguide

  • Shovel Eighty8 Enduro Chainguide is designed specifically for enduro and heavy gravity tracks, enclosed in 70 grams of pure simplicity. It is used in World Cup enduro races and everyday shredding.
  • With the same design as Enduro Carbon chainguide, Eighty8 is more affordable, due to the 7075-T651 aluminum backplate.
  • The main benefits of the Eighty8 chainguide are its weight and toughness.
  • The taco is made of hard and durable PA plastic, resistant to impacts, with two points of stress relief connected to the backplate.

Some tech stuff:

  • Weight: Only 72 grams
  • Chainring range: 28-34T Regular, 28-32T Oval
  • ISCG05

Enduro Carbon Chainguide

  • Shovel Enduro Carbon Chainguide is designed specifically for enduro and heavy gravity tracks, enclosed in 60 grams of pure hotness.

Seventy Chainguide

  • Chain control has been perfected with a new and improved slider, and the enduro top guide, creating no drag on the chain, while keeping it on the chain ring at all times.
  • Since the Seventy does not provide protection from impacts on the trail, we recommend using it on moderately gnarly trails, enduro trails and heavy duty pump tracks.

Some tech stuff:

  • Weight: Only 70 grams
  • Chainring range: 28-36T Regular, 28-34T Oval
  • ISCG05

Forty8 Chainguide

  • This chainguide, designed specifically for enduro, coupled with a NW chainring, enclosed in 48 grams, is used on Enduro tracks with gnarly terrain.
  • The space-grade alloy backplate is used for ultimate impacts that often occur in enduro riding.
  • The taco is made of hard and durable PA plastic, resistant to impacts, with two points of stress relief connected to the backplate.
  • Titanium hardware is used to tighten all the parts of the chainguide, with minimum amount of weight.

Shovel Chainrings

As all of Shovel products are champions in weight reduction, as well as in toughness, our chainrings are no exception. With 38 grams, this Oval Fat/Slim Chainring is the total weight saver.

With open bolt design, we have saved some weight, but have not lost structural integrity. By removing the material around the bolts, we have gained a lot of clearance when removing the chainring, so there is no more unnecessary crank removal.

Shovel chainrings have been tested for over 2 years before their release, to ensure the best chainring design and quality.

Fat tooth design was done by adding extra surfaces off of which mud can slide, retaining the chain in every condition.

However, if you are riding bike park, some unexpected front flips can occur, so we would recommend getting a chainguide, just in case of some eject event.

The complete Shovel production is based in Croatia, EU and kept in house. The Shovel team philosophy is "only high end" and we strive to achieve the best price and quality gain for our customers.

As retail demand for Shovel products in North America is growing, it is hard for us to handle retail customers. Furthermore, we are looking for partners to spread our story and philosophy.

Cheers and and keep on shredding!
