New full-suspension and hardtail mountain bike options from Marin as they update and expand their 2020 offerings.

Petaluma, Calif, - August 27, 2019 - Marin Mountain Bikes Inc., building on the momentum of the March Mount Vision release, further refines the line of forward-thinking mountain bike lineup for 2020. Highlights include the best-selling Hawk Hill lineup receiving key spec updates, the popular Rift Zone lineup receiving geometry as well as spec updates, while new frames grace the trail/sport Bobcat/Wildcat, and Bolinas families. Finally, the classic steel Pine Mountain trail/bikepacking models have been reimagined, with Pine Mountain electric bikes joining the fray.

2020 Marin Hawk Hill 3 27.5, $2649

The Hawk Hill, Marin’s best-selling mountain bike range, received key specification and graphic updates on the Hawk Hill 2 and Hawk Hill 3 models. The Hawk Hill 2 is now equipped with SRAM’s SX Eagle 12-speed drivetrain, and the Hawk Hill 3 is spec’d with Shimano’s new SLX 12-speed drivetrain, a Marzocchi Bomber Z2 fork, and Shimano four piston brakes. The Hawk Hill 1, which Bicycling Magazine dubbed “the best mountain bike,” remains unchanged, and all Hawk Hill models retain the best-in-class geometry, as updated for 2019. US MSRPs span from $1599 - $2649 across the three models.

2020 Marin Rift Zone 3 29, $2649

Entering its third year using the MultiTrac suspension platform, Rift Zone models receive a significant frame upgrade, with rear wheel travel bumped up to 125mm, and fork travel now at 130mm. Head tube angles have slackened to 65.5° while seat tube angles steepened to 76°. These updates better match the short fork offset trends that have become increasingly popular on trail bikes. Specifications virtually mirror the Hawk Hill lineup, with SRAM’s new SX Eagle 12-speed drivetrain on the Rift Zone 2, and a new Shimano SLX 12-speed drivetrain and four piston brakes, and Marzocchi Bomber Z2 fork gracing the Rift Zone 3. US MSRPs span from $1599 - $2649 across the three models.

2020 Marin Bobcat Trail 5

Mid-price hardtails have historically been one of Marin’s fortes, and the all-new Bobcat Trail and Wildcat Trail mountain bikes reflect the attention to detail that Marin is known for. These models are designed for the hardtail enthusiast and recreational mountain bike rider looking for proper singletrack capabilities, with the Wildcat Trail models designed specifically for women riders. Modern trail geometry is present in the all-new Series 2 frames, which are now longer/lower/slacker, and utilize 120mm travel suspension forks, giving riders confidence and predictable handling to have a blast on the trail. Seat tube diameters have been increased to 30.9mm, for enhanced dropper post compatibility, and cables and hoses now run internally. Both the Bobcat Trail as well as Wildcat Trail lineups span three models, with prices ranging from $449 to $949.

2020 Marin Pine Mountain 2

The classic steel hardtail, re-imagined. The 2020 Pine Mountain remains the ideal bikepacking and adventure machine, moving to a new platform and 29 x 2.6” tires, on new Series 2 and Series 3 frames. These CroMo frames feature updated geometry, with a 66.5° head tube angle and 430mm chainstays – a great mix between agility for trail riding, as well as all-day comfort when bikepacking. A plethora of frame mounts throughout the front triangle and our new 50mm rise Bedroll Bar give the bike unprecedented versatility for carrying virtually any load. Two models available, priced at $1349 and $2099.

2020 Marin Pine Mountain E2

The all-new Pine Mountain E series is for mountain bikers and bikepackers who need a boost, either to cover more distance in a shorter amount of time, or to go farther and higher than otherwise possible. Taking cues from our new Pine Mountain models, but built on a highly capable 27.5+ wheelset and including a multitude of mounts and our all-new Bedroll Bar to shoulder the load. Both models use Series 3 CroMo framesets and Shimano STEPS drive systems. Two models available, priced at $3359 and $4199.

2020 Marin Alcatraz Dirt Jumper

The Alcatraz gets an updated colorway for 2020.

2020 Marin Bolinas Ridge 2

Designed for the recreational mountain biker looking to explore the local singletrack or dirt paths, the Bolinas series receive new Series 1 frames for 2020, following MTB trends of longer/lower/slacker. Headtube angles are now one degree slacker, while seattube angles are one degree steeper. Longer toptubes, coupled with shorter stems give the recreational rider a true MTB experience, and standover clearance is increased, for a modern silhouette. Finally, both Bolinas models were upgraded to disc brakes for 2019, a feature that continues. Two models available, priced at $449 and $524.
