Press Release

Intense Cycles at World Champs

From Stik, LOL: Taking a break from building 500 show bikes, making decals, talking to
sponsors and athletes about 2011, building magazine bikes, breakfast, scrubbing
puke off my shirt from the MSA party (not my puke), ordering more catalogs to
write this sweet wanna-be press release of sorts.

The CRC/Intense gang arrived monday after winning the #1 world cup team
trophy in NY the previous weekend. Matti Lehikoinen who crashed in NY had to
spend one day in MSA before heading home to evaluate his shoulder injury. Matti
was pretty bummed over the whole deal and not being able to race the world
championships again really did not help. The rest of the team were all healthy
and ready to rock. In the finals, our guys had some bad luck with Matt Simmonds
having a wicked crash in his race run, but luckily it was on the freecaster live
broadcast so the fans will never forget it. Kovarik had a less than stellar run
and Julien Cammelini and Ruaridh Cunningham grabbing 20th and 19th places to be
the stars of the team. Kovariks bike was the hit of the event though, stealth
black with a demonic themed decal kit.

Our Intense Ladies who always kill it were also ready to battle. Emmeline
Ragot (riding a custom Intense M9FRO) from france who almost won world cup title
last weekend was ready to defend her rainbows, but the track proved to be a bit
too long for the tiny world champ. She ended up getting the bronze medal in the
final. In 5th place in pro women was Japans Mio Suemasa and she was more than
pleased with her performance on her 951. Next up in the results would be 1995
world downhill champion Leigh Donovan (Riding a new custom M9FRO) in 8th place.
Leigh held off a dozen or so riders and kept the hot seat warm as she was the
first rider down. Leigh had been busy all week doing interviews with media as
she was the story of the event. Being a mom, business owner and not having raced
international competition for 9 years since she retired at the Vail worlds in
2001, it made for an incredible story....oh and she was the first american rider
too, which mean USA is so off the back. Rounding up the top 10 was Canada's
Claire Buchar in 9th place.

Womens Downhill Results

1. Moseley

2. Johnson and Johnson, No more tears

3. Emmeline Ragot (FRA) Intense M9 FRO

5. Mio Suemasa (JPN)

8. Leigh Donovan (USA) first american! Intense M9 FRO

9. Claire Buchar (CAN) CRC/Intense M9 FRO

In 4X action, Anneke Beerten came to win the rainbows after loosing her
world cup title the previous weekend, but it was not meant to be. Anneke got
pimped out on the first turn and could never catch back up to the leaders. The
4X track being held in near darkness did not make for an easy effort.

Another incredible statistic was that Intense Cycles were the 3rd most
chosen bike at these world championships. Not bad for a little factory in
so-cal, competing against beasts of the bike industry and also an incredible
statistic if you throw in the fact that all these riders choose to ride our
bikes, we are not throwing around wads of cash to get people on our bikes.
