Vital MTB Seeks Content Manager for Our Growing Team 11

It's true, Vital MTB is hiring!

  1. Who is Ratboy?
  2. Do you use the word "boosh" while describing a mountain bike ride?
  3. Have you ever responded to a clips vs. flats forum post?
  4. Do you know what it means to embed a video?

If you answered...

  1. Josh Bryceland, are you kidding?
  2. Heck yes!
  3. I have many times and always say, "flats are more fun."
  4. Duh, it's 2015.

...then you may have what it takes to be the newest member of Vital MTB's staff.

Vital Media Network is seeking a passionate, knowledgeable mountain biker to help Vital MTB continue as one of our sport's most informative and entertaining online media destinations. As full-time Content Manager, you will be part of a small-but-dedicated growing team focused on accurate and timely production of mountain bike-related internet content, reporting to the Content Director and Product Editor. A desire to set Vital MTB apart from the other media outlets will be the key to your success among our tight-knit family.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Creating news, video and press release posts
  • Write and edit product-related features
  • Encourage postings in the Vital MTB forum

Other responsibilities:

  • Backup Content Director on race-related coverage
  • Assist with general news gathering and posting
  • Social media
  • Event coverage
  • Product testing
  • Help on other Vital sites and projects as needed

The ideal candidate possesses the following:

  • Passion for mountain biking, mountain bike competition and related products
  • College degree in relevant subject
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Photography and/or videography experience (filming and editing)
  • Significant online experience
  • Basic HTML and CSS knowledge
  • Resourceful and able to solve problems independently
  • Interest in BMX or MX is a plus

This is not a ride-heavy, adventure blogging position. This is a full-time commitment that requires a lot of time at a computer for someone who loses sleep when they see Greg Minnaar's last name spelled with only one N. Your reward is a competitive salary, health benefits, access to the newest MTB products, the ability to work from home and riding opportunities you may never get to experience otherwise. International candidates welcome.

To be considered for the Vital MTB Content Manager position, please email your cover letter, resume and links to your online work to sspomer@vitalmtb.com.
