RESULTS: Timed Training from Val di Sole World Cup DH 1

Minnaar, Myriam and Matt Walker fastest in Italy.

The last World Cup DH of 2017 is underway with the conclusion of timed training in Val di Sole, Italy. Greg Minnaar, Myriam Nicole and Matt Walker set baseline times in their classes. The Val di Sole track is known for its consistently steep pitch and extremely rough conditions. Timed training is a special practice session for the top riders only. Results from this session do not count toward any ranking or overall position, but it's fun and interesting to see how the course is running as race day creeps closer. There is an extremely close World Cup title race between Greg Minnaar and Aaron Gwin this weekend with Troy Brosnan being a possible spoiler in the mix, too. Race action on Saturday should be all-time.

It has been reported that Loris Vergier of the Santa Cruz Syndicate was riding his 27.5-inch-wheeled V10 today instead of the 29er.
