The weekend at Mountain Creek Bike Park in Vernon, New Jersey started out wet, slippery and slow. But by race day, the sun had been out, the course had firmed up and speeds for downhill competitors at the re-launch of the U.S. Open of Mountain Biking were the fastest of the event. Neko Mulally took a win against a stacked field of U.S. racers including 2016 World Cup overall winner and YT Mob teammate, Aaron Gwin. Times for the Top 10 Men were separated by less than seven seconds.
Jill Kintner took a convincing victory in the Pro Women's class. 14 women competed in the class breathing life back into the U.S. Women's DH movement.
Stay tuned for complete results, photos and videos as the day progresses.
