RESULTS: Timed Training, Andorra World Cup Downhill

The usual suspects at the top during timed training in Andorra today.

The steeps of Vallnord, Andorra, woke up World Cup Downhill racers during the first practice session and official timed training of the weekend. The live timing feed was non-existent until the very end of the session and there were no Junior Women's results posted. We're posting the results below without knowing just how official they are. Rain was off and on from about 3pm local time making the track greasy in places, but nothing too treacherous according to John Lawlor who was trackside filming Vital RAW.

Amaury Pierron 2.5-seconds ahead of everyone else seems pretty darn accurate these days. Loic (with some seriously speedy top splits) and Gee in tow are rad to see with Loris, Finn and Danny squeezing in as Amaury's brother, Baptiste, snags a 7th place. If you weren't aware, Aaron Gwin is not racing this weekend due to his injured hand, hoping to recover for MSA.

The Elite Women's numbers make us a little less confident in the results. We know Rachel Atherton is freaking fast, but 54 seconds ahead of 2nd place makes us just a tiny bit suspect. It's timed training, not everyone tries and Rachel is Rachel, so we'd not be surprised if she did smoke the rest of the women that hard. Myriam Nicole is not racing this weekend due to an injury suffered in Val di Sole last weekend. The Juniors have some rad mixing up which is always exciting to see.

UPDATE - The official PDF results are out and the standings below match.
