Under dry, dusty conditions in the forest of Cairns, Australia, the 2017 UCI Mountain Bike World Championship Cross Country races were completed. Nino Schurter earned another World Champs victory while riding in the lead group for six laps, but in second or third position. He dropped the hammer during the final lap and never looked back, sealing off a perfect World Cup / World Champs season.
