RESULTS: Aaron Gwin and Rachel Atherton Qualify Fastest in Lenzerheide 13

Blue skies and points to play for meant the times came tumbling down in Lenzerheide. Sub-3 minutes in the actual race tomorrow?

The weather has been awesome in Lenzerheide all week, and that was not about to change for today's qualifying action. With a dry and fast course, Aaron Gwin must have felt like he was back home in SoCal as he laid down a scorcher of a run to come oh-so-close to breaking the 3-minute barrier. Times are still quite tight though, so it's all still to play for tomorrow.

In the women's - well, that escalated quickly! Rachel Atherton may still be on the mend, even foregoing the timed training session to rest her shoulder, but she managed to hold on for the duration of this shorter course to claim the fastest time today. In case there was any doubt about her speed and toughness...

We told you she was tough!

In the junior men's, Sylvain Cougouroux claimed top spot and will start last in tomorrow's final, but the top three guys are all within one second of each other so we should be in for an exciting final. Note that #2 plate Matt Walker did not start qualifying.
