Montenbaik Enduro Powered by SRAM Round 4: Valdivia

The fourth stage of the 2013 Montenbaik Enduro Championship powered by SRAM took place last Friday and Saturday with 300 enthusiastic riders. This was the second time the circuit visited Valdivia but the big difference this year was that the race featured two days of competitions. With the Enduro World Series set to visit Chile for the opener of the 2014 season, the already renowned local series has further gained in popularity, evidence of the world wide appeal of the "Enduro movement". Check out the video and pics below for an idea of what awaits the EWS in 2014!

The race day started on Friday with 4 fun stages. It was pretty pedally which was a useful warm up for the big day on Saturday.

Saturday at the port of Corral was a long race day with a 50 km course laid out. 4 liaisons for a total altitude gain of almost 2000 meters, and 4 special stages of 1500m of downhill saw all the riders finished exhausted.

In Elite Men Martin Flaño took the win with his brand new Giant Trance Advance 27.5”, with a total time of 27 minutes and 15 seconds. Local boy Sergio Antecao was second with 27:44, followed in third place by the Chilean legend Claus Plaut with 27:55 minutes.

This year in Valdivia we doubled the amount of riders. Definitely a sign that everybody is getting prepared for the Enduro World Series that Montenbaik Enduro will organize next year in Nevados de Chillan.

We look forward to the final round on December 7th at a completely new track in the town of Puchuncavi where all the 300 entries are already sold out.
