FINAL RESULTS - Enduro World Series, Whistler 3

Martin Maes and Cecile Ravanel take wins in the brutal-but-epic one-day EWS event.

Martin Maes gets his first Enduro World Series win of 2018 and he does it at one of the most difficult one-day battles of the race season, Whistler. He takes the win with three 2nd places in the first three stages and wins in stage 4 and 5. Stage 5 is the brutal 20-minute-long Top of the World run which finishes at the base of Whistler Bike Park. Sam Hill never took a stage win today but placed 2nd overall with consistent riding. Is his focus the overall? Eddie "World Cup DH Ditcher" Masters backed up his choice to race the EWS this weekend instead of Mont-Sainte-Anne with a 3rd place and his second podium on the trot. The Kiwi ATV is a do-it-all destroyer and after 41 minutes of racing he was only 6 seconds behind Sam Hill. Special shoutout to Richie Rude who was once again riding well, sitting in second place 1.5 seconds back on Maes going into the final stage, only to have a flat tire and drop down to 10th overall. Good to see Richie back to his old self and charging hard though!

Martin Maes has no time to enjoy the TOTW views.

Cecile Ravanel continues her Groundhog-Day-like streak of victories, once again stomping the women's field, this time by nearly a minute and 30 seconds. She continues to dominate despite (or perhaps also thanks to?) a slight distraction with World Cup DH dabbling.

Cecile Ravanel, another day at the office...destroying.

Stay tuned for the full race day slideshow and Vital RAW tomorrow.
