When we last visited Commencal in Andorra, they showed us a pretty slick new frame finishing technique. Basically, they anodize and polish the frame, then they place a special protective decal where the graphics will be, after which the entire frame is shot-peened. When the protective decals are then removed, those parts of the frame are still glossy which gives the appearance of a shiny graphics decal, when in reality it's just two different finishes providing the effect. The result is understated yet quite impressive.
Fast forward to today, and they've finally announced the bike that goes with the sweet new finish: the Meta AM V4.2 World Cup edition. Based around a FOX Factory suspension build, the bike is specced with a functional mix of fairly high-end parts next to a few house-brand items. Since Commencal is a direct-sales brand, the whole package sells for a quite reasonable $4499 USD stateside, or EUR4499 on the old continent.
