What do Evel Knievel, Metallica and Andrew Taylor have in common?

They all threw down at the Cow Palace!

Andrew Taylor a.k.a AT, in conjunction with rideSFO, bring back AT’s Showdown on November 6th at the infamous Cow Palace during the 3rd Annual San Francisco Bay Area Bicycle Expo.
Last year, we brought you the 1st ever mountain bike dirt jump
competition to the SF Bay Area and ran it next to the monster
cyclocross called the Cross Palace.
From a single vantage point, you could see racers smack into a berm and
watch a rider flip in the background. It produced a great visual!

This year we will bring you a 360-degree view of action. The Cross
Palace returns. We’ve added a BMX Urban Competition called the
Intersection and a Pump Track that will model the potential McLaren Bike Park. Then the Showdown will tie all the action together.

AT’s Showdown is a rider vs. rider competition.
It will be open for invited riders only. Riders will go though a two
run qualifier, followed immediately by the finals. 38 riders will take
their best run of two from qualifying to earn a spot in the final 12.
The top 12 will battle in an hour-long jam. We will have additional
features from last year’s Showdown such as a sea container, a ramp with
an option to hip right, left or go straight into a quarter pipe with
dirt landings.
