The backyard pumptrack can provide hours and hours of fun, a chance to get really creative in a small space, and one heck of a workout. Plus it's a rad way to entertain your riding buddies. If you've got one, post a photo. If not, post one that you wish you had!

Here's a bunch for inspiration:

Nice one Jeremy. I've never had the flat land to build a proper pump track of my own, But I did have two hundred feet of elevated "Shore." trails in the backyard.

Still working on getting it smoothed out and nobody has been able to clear the gap yet, but it was ready for 30th birthday pump track races! (I'm the fast one with the beard.)

Guys. Perfect timing. Cut my track in last year and bought in dirt - but it had way too many pebbles. I need to order dirt but no one seems to be able to confirm that they have dirt with a suitable clay content (25-40%). Any advice on what to ask for etc. cheers.

Awesome post guys, I've always wanted to build a pumptrack but my dad keeps telling me that the garden is too small, anyone got any tips for working in a 20x8 foot space?

This forum topic might be my favorite one ever! I'm absolutely obsessed with with pump tracks, backyard projects and bike park development. I've built two on a piece of property I live on, but do not own. While I dig up evidence of those, I'll post this video of my goofing around this winter on the pumptrack at Carbondale Bike Park.

I built this one a while back at my friend's house with the help of the house owner and our friends. I don't get to ride it much these days since, but it really helped unite the mountain bikers in the area. For a small little course, it has had a huge impact on the local scene.

I also made this one and a video on how to build a pump track this past winter.

This is pump track around a pool, i not so good with cpu so this is all i could do. This place changed all the time, sad but it is now gone. Was a Wednesday tradition for years.

Quick POV of mine. Took 5 months and is near completion. Built by a shovel, wheelbarrow and myself.

This is the one that I built by hand. Lots of shoveling. This video is a 3-4 years old and since then the pumptrack has transformed into dirt jumps. I think the record was 6 laps, no pedaling.. On the day the video was shot, the ground was damp and rolling speeds were low, hence the difficulty of multiple laps. The bottom of the track is about 4-5 feet below the top of the track and you had to really hold your speed to make it back up.
