I'd say you should concentrate on getting the best frame and suspension that you can for the money and not worry about getting the latest and greatest components. The small bits will break over time, particularly under a beginner, and can be replaced with better items as they do. But the frame and suspension are going to be with you for a while. look up vitus Dominer 2 its a great bike for only 1480!!!!! lots of room to upgade!!!
