Just curious. I am coming from motocross to dh discipline. So I'm no stranger to catching air or jumping a gap. But I've notice the gaps on dirt jumpers courses and even the gaps at the nationals this weekend at Sol Vista on the DH course have gnarly gaps with no rooms for error if you don't time the jump right or say you come into the jump out of control or sliding side ways. I mean you could walk into one of thoughs trenches and get hurt. My first observation where all the injuries in the sport.

Why do all track builders leave huge gaps and not fill them up for saftey reasons? At least fill them up most of the way or put a wood bridge in between.

If the jump is too big dont jump it, dont even look at it. No but seriously most bike parks and trails have go around lines or such safety features as you said

I don't think I have ever seen anyone fall into the hole and get hurt. Most people seem to lose it on the downward transition.

The hole is a gap of the mind Smile
