Completely New to MTB

Hey, I ride bmx. I really wanna start mtb though as well. Im 14 years old and about 5'5". Any tips and bike recomendations? My price limit is about 650. Idk if I can get a bike for that much but please help me. Much appreciated.

I guess the biggest decision is what discipline of mtb are you wanting to do. What style are you interested in? Dirt Jump? DownHill? or maybe just some good ol' fashion trail ridin'?
