too broad of a question.. that said.. DHF maxxGRIP EXO front with cushcore is solid and light enough.. I think you have to go to DD on Assguy to get sticky rubber ..but anyways, there is a lot more than Maxxis.. sticking only to the thread pattern, Wild Enduros and DH22 are amazing

I've been running the Assegai up front for over 6 months and really like it. Mostly riding NorCal coastal stuff with a few trips to Mammoth and Tahoe.

I've been running kenda hellkats in atc and agc casings and like it a lot in dry & non sticky wet conditions.
the atc casing provides a bit more grip though as it seems to conform to the ground a bit better

Would someone that’s running a Assegai please measure the center tread height and the cornering tread height.

Thanks in advance

Michelin wild enduro is a killer mud tire if you are looking for a cheaper option. Definitely not my first choice in hard dry conditions though.

The DHF MaxxGrip Wins!
For snow summit you cant beat the DHF (collin bailey tested and designed the tire at Snow Summit) and it really shows that tire works very well on the front and backside trails of SS. The Assegai is an anchor its not a good tire for westridge as its slow rolling, it grips well but if your used to running a tire with a channel between the knobs you may find its hard to not loose the front in a sandy turn. For snow summit I ONLY run DHF maxxgrip front and DHR2 maxxterra rear.

Its so dry up here, when it rains you can hear the ground sucking it up!
