pretty cool IMO and figured i'd put...
This is what I managed to set up last Autumn - ran some zip ties through the hollow bolts in the dropouts and the tensioner's arm to prevent it from flopping around.
I ran one of those for a season of bike park riding. Works awesome- especially for $20.
I cut the 'tang' off the derailleur hanger and zip tied the main body of the alfine tensioner straight to the chainstay IE rotate yours another 45 degrees CCW and tuck it up another inch or so. EDIT- it might be cheaper to cut the tang off the alfine tensioner since deraileur hangers are more than $20.
so the 29 / 27.5 combo seems to be legit. Finn just got 2nd at crankworx rotorua by .09 running it. brook won on 27.5 (so rad...brook looks f'ing focused!) and brannigan 3rd on 29 (i think he's on 29...also freaking rad to see him back in the mix). loic front flatted so we don't know how we would have done.
oh, finn wins "sickest foot-out turn of 2019 so far" in his race run too! i'm sure replays will surface at some point.

is there some kind of lower damper thing going on too? looks like a shaft or something between chainring and that linkage mount/pivot. i have no idea, just looks interesting.

Someone earlier did mention seeing one with a shock AND a separate damper shaft.

Aesthetically, shock in downtube looks so much better. Possible twin damper setup is interesting, but seems so unnecessary now a days.
Looking at other pics floating around, it’s hard to tell if the upper shock has a reservoir. Would make sense for the additional damper if that’s the case. Prototype clearance issues maybe
remote resevoir like an avalanche hop-up kit? maybe just a hose, not a shaft in that first pic? looks like nothing is there in those 2nd shots. i love speculating off of 50kb screengrabs haha. can't wait to see it for real.
Interesting. Judging by the lines of the link mounting bracket and the thin toptube it looks like a carbon frame (just speculation), but that damper mount screams prototype. That long mount doesn´t look confidence inspiring at all. Really weird bike indeed.
My money is on some sort of proprietary shock.
Wasn´t the upper shock mount on the toptube on the previously spotted bike?
Wonder if the spring part of the shock is designed to take side loads while there is a separate damper just for dampening. Wasn’t Ohlins saying it was difficult to design a shock for mountain bikes because it’s structrual and a dampener? This could be an attempt to eliminate that

I'm not sure if Brook is on 27.5 wheels. His tires, wheels doesnt say anything and lowers says 40rty, same with L. Greenland bike
Could the coil be a dummy?? Cannondale did this with the new lefty adding a fake upper to the xc bikes....
I'm thinking that as well. That link looks huge and inside the frame. I'm not even sure this makes sense, but maybe it's possible they're working on the damper settings in the downbtube and using a dummy shock as the spring to swap spring rates quickly?

I saw two of those bikes on the east coast in September. On of them was actually running two shocks, one being a coil shock but without a coil in the downtube and then an air shock above linkage. I was told not to say or post anything but we know what it is.....
Comparing both sets of photos made this post very very relevant all of a sudden...
Another pic of the new Cannondale.

Its also has an Idler pully so good to see Cannondale back with some craziness that has everyone talking just like the good old days.
Pulldamper. And a traditional spring setup. My guess.
And that they are toying with a new pull shock. I few pages ago you could see this bike(?) at whistler without the spring, so the might bring back a pull shock? But since it has the mounts for a regular shock as well, might be testing both, and a combination.

lots of clips with Matt Simmons on the new cannondale bike

For me there is a difference in wheelsize between this tues and Laurie summum
