I have a Rock Shox Totem and am running into huge issues with stiction at the top of the travel. It uses all of its travel upon big hits and g-outs, but the small bump compliance is nill. It has been rebuilt several times by suspension techs, but this thing is beating the crap out of me. Any recommendations or tech tips? The lower half of the travel is smooth.

Even running the compression completely open does not help. Its pretty weird and super exhausting to ride

There's a thread on mtbr somewhere that goes tuning the shimstack to get it to be more small-bump compliant(it's for the lyrik, but as far as I can see after taking my totem apart and putting it back together the totem is identical).. lemme see if i can find it..

Problem solved, BoXXer World Cup. I am going to keep the Totem and try some things. I think I will drill the hole in the damper to allow a bit more oil flow and see how that goes. I have heard positive results from some other locals.

Totems are amazing forks. I will be back on one next year. Spending a bit of time and money to get them tuned will only make them better. Lets not turn this into pinkbike and start claiming products suck with simple one-liners.

Your personal issues with your Totem are likely valid, but there are tons of satisfied Totem owners, me being one of them. I have discovered the issue with my fork and will be getting another one next year.

Only one key component in the original Totem that makes it bad. Remove the gate feature in the Mission control and problem solved, don't do any drilling.
Or get a new Mission Control DH.

Nick I'll help you out on Saturday, takes just a few minutes if you want.

If I have it back in my hands I will bring it along. I have a coil and an air kit for it, thinking of trying the air. My Boxxer WC feels great!
