This might be obvious, but are you turning it the correct direction? Left and right pedals are threaded differently, and they loosen towards the back of the bike.

Put your right crank at 3 o'clock (as in level if you ride right foot forward). Get your pedal wrench as parallel as possible with the handle pointing towards the rear of the bike. Grab your rear brake. Knock the shit out of the handle with a hammer.

Should probably put the bike on the ground.

If that doesn't work, drink a few beers and try the same procedure again.

If that doesn't work, do a fat line of coke and try the same procedure again.

And when you put your new pedals back on, be sure to grease the threads and don't do them up too tight! Do that and you'll have no problems getting them off in the future.

If ALL else fails, sometimes a dose of that good cleansing fire will do the trick. Break out the blow torch and heat the area. Aluminum expands more/faster than steel, so the threads should loosen a bit. Turn it while it's hot, turn it while it's hot. Sorry, couldn't resist. Also, the heat can burn away some of the rust and grease, making the process easier as well.

If the wrench flats are stripped, you may have an alley key insert on the back side of the pedal.

TMan, check the back side of the pedal, some pedals have an allen key as well. If you don't have a allen key on the back side of the pedal, I would recommend taking to your local shop before you make the nut part worst. A pedal wrench goes a long ways. I found out the hard way as well. The heating is a good tip, just be careful not to melt the inner bearing seal next to the crank.

Give us an update when you have a chance.
