Spring noise is nothing to worry about, just highly annoying. You could try heat shrink tubing around the spring. The rubber type (Don't use the waterproofing kind, it's a mess.) would work, if it will still fit in the fork tube. I'm not sure where to get it, but a lot of suspension companies use a thinner plastic kind. Whichever kind you try, only cover the middle two thirds of the spring, so that it doesn't interfere with the seating of the spring.
That sounds rather complicated. Have you heard of using shrink wrap as a cheaper alternative to shrink fitting the spring assembly? Maybe we are talking about the same thing here.
What ever you use, it needs to be very durable because as the fork is constantly moving, the spring is too. You don't want the wrap to shred inside your fork and gum up the works.
