Leave it to Eddie Masters to keep things fun. Tasked with showcasing the new Firebird 29, Eddie pulled out all the stops with this lighthearted video intro. Featuring 162mm of travel out back and 170mm up front, this rig is designed to "crush climbs, slay descents," and look good while doing it. The Firebird 29 pushes things in an even more aggressive direction for Pivot, and, as we've come to expect of their bikes, all of the little details are dialed.

Geometry

The Firebird 29 features Pivot's longest reach numbers to date. A new flip chip in the upper link mount allows you to make geometry adjustments without changing the shock rate.

Suggested Sizing: Small - 5'4" to 5'9" // Medium - 5'8" to 5'11" // Large - 5'11" to 6'3" // X-Large - 6'2" to 6'7"

So, the video is supposed to be tongue-in-cheek? Because if this were my first encounter with Eddie M., I might think he was a douchebag. How's the above average Joey supposed to know whether a signing bonus buys a swanky pad in an mtb paradise? I don't see how a 29er with that much travel can be lively, but based on how similarly lively a Med 5.5 is compared to my large 5010 v2, I won't be surprised if its liveliness is best-in-class.

Where is the logic on making the 170mm travel bike 30lbs, and the 120mm travel..30lbs?!

well, for this bike to weigh 30 lbs you gotta spend 9k, for the 120 travel to weigh 30lbs you only need to spend around 5k

And almost every other brand's bikes look like every other bike they product (Santa Cruz, Trek, Transition, etc. etc.). Not sure what you are going for there.

Let's fix this quote so it doesn't sound so cheesy.

There now it's believable.

Also these prices are silly, the low end model is right in line with the top end Capra. I know they have different business models but holy balls that's a lot of cheddar for SLX brakes.
